@SiddFinch00 @Billy3472 @BetRivers And as long as the pitch was aimed at his ass/thigh and not his back/head, I have no problem. In Tyrone's scenario, 26-0 with 2 outs in the 9th, it wouldn't just be Davis wearing it the next day. It would've been the next batter on the next pitch.

@negative40 @Billy3472 @BetRivers The litmus test, especially in earlier eras, is whether a the guy who bunted would've gotten thrown at the next time they played Davis would've absolutely worn one in the back had he bunted with a huge deficit

@Billy3472 @SiddFinch00 @BetRivers The question isn't whether or not bunting during a no-hitter is a legitimate option. It's whether or not it's petty. And bunting during a no-hitter with 2 outs in the 9th with a 27 run lead is absolutely bush league. That said, the Davis bunt brought the tying run to bat.

@lord_gnesda @D1SCHER @aguilucho_real1 Do debating Trout was better as an all around player. Miggy had a higher SLG, more HR, higher AVG, more RBI’s, and when you do something historically like winning the triple crown, it should be the tie breaker among two amazing seasons. Miggy slightly deserved it.

Chanting “overrated” at the closest thing to modern day Mickey Mantle in his prime is hilarious Also, Miggy absolutely robbed Trout of a should have been MVP season all bc old men preferred the “triple crown”

@kwasny007 @jamestalarico @adgirlMM Fun Fact: more Democrats voted in the March primary than Republicans If you're going to use turnout as your barometer to illustrate Republican enthusiasm, it would help if the numbers demonstrated your conclusion.

🇺🇸 Most Badass Presidents: Combat Veteran Edition #8 John F. Kennedy John F. Kennedy, our 35th President, was one badass President. His boat was sliced in half by a Japanese destroyer. He then swam miles towing a badly burned crewman with his teeth to save him. Born May 29, 1917, in Brookline, Massachusetts. Kennedy tried to enlist but was rejected because of a chronic and severe back injury along with debilitating gastrointestinal illnesses. Refusing to sit out the war, he used family connections to get in. He became a lieutenant in the Navy. He commanded PT-109 in the Solomon Islands in 1943. In the darkness of night of August 2, 1943, a Japanese destroyer slammed into his boat at full speed and cut it in two. Two crewmen were killed instantly. Kennedy was thrown hard into the cockpit and reinjured his back badly. Kennedy and his ten surviving crew clung to the wreckage for hours. It began to sink. One man, Patrick McMahon, was badly burned and could barely swim. Kennedy gripped the strap of McMahon’s life jacket in his teeth and swam more than three miles in four hours through rough seas to the nearest island. The crew spent days stranded, moving between tiny islands. Kennedy swam out into dangerous coral channels at night, searching for passing American boats. He eventually encountered two native Solomon Islander scouts. Lacking any paper, Kennedy used a pocket knife to carve a rescue message into a green coconut shell: "NAURO ISL COMMANDER NATIVE KNOWS POSIT HE CAN PILOT 11 ALIVE NEED SMALL BOAT KENNEDY" The scouts paddled through enemy-controlled waters to deliver the coconut to an Allied base. They were finally rescued after six days. Kennedy later took command of PT-59 and continued combat patrols. He was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroism and the Purple Heart for his wounds. He was the only U.S. president to receive the Purple Heart. He fought for the Republic in the Pacific long before he ever stepped foot in the White House. Thank you, Mr. President! 🇺🇸🫡

🇺🇸 Most Badass Presidents: Combat Veteran Edition #9 George H.W. Bush George H.W. Bush, our 41st President, was one badass President. He was shot down by Japanese fire, bailed out of his burning plane, and floated alone in the Pacific until rescued by a submarine. Born June 12, 1924, in Milton, Massachusetts. On his 18th birthday Bush enlisted in the Navy. He completed preflight training at UNC Chapel Hill and became the youngest naval aviator in the fleet at the time. He flew the TBM Avenger torpedo bomber off the light carrier USS San Jacinto in Torpedo Squadron VT-51. Bush flew 58 combat missions across the Pacific. He named his aircraft Barbara after his high school sweetheart. There would be three of them by the time the war was over. In June 1944, Bush was flying an unnamed temporary plane. It suffered engine failure. He made a forced water landing and he and his crew were rescued by the destroyer USS Clarence K. Bronson. In August 1944, Barbara I suffered catastrophic engine failure. He had to turn back and make an emergency carrier landing. Then on September 2, 1944, flying Barbara II, his squadron attacked a radio tower on the heavily defended island of Chichi Jima. Bush dove straight into intense anti aircraft fire. His plane was hit hard and the engine burst into flames. Smoke filled the cockpit but Bush stayed on target, released his bombs, and scored direct hits. He then flew the burning Avenger several miles out to sea. He ordered his crew to bail out. One crewman’s parachute failed to open. The other went down with the plane. Bush bailed out around 2,000 ft. His head grazed the tail wing and left a large bleeding gash above his eye. In a panic, he pulled his ripcord early, causing the parachute to snag on the tail section and tear. He hit the water hard. He inflated his raft and floated alone for hours, vomiting from a concussion and bleeding down his face. Squadron mates strafed Japanese boats that tried reaching him. The submarine USS Finback spotted him and pulled him to safety. He returned to action in November 1944 with Barbara III and participated in operations in the Philippines. His squadron suffered nearly 50 percent casualties among its pilots. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, three Air Medals, and the Presidential Unit Citation for his combat service. He was honorably discharged in 1945 and entered Yale University. Four years after meeting at a Christmas dance, George married Barbara. They would be together for 73 more years. He flew for the Republic in the Pacific long before he ever stepped foot in the White House. Thank you, Mr. President! 🇺🇸🫡

I was genuinely thrilled to join my teacher’s union last year when I entered education. Finally, someone had my back, right? One year and $360 later ($36/month), I’m asking, “what did that money actually do for me?” I spent more in union dues than my salary increase next year…
