@Peoplewish If it was so manipulated/rigged on the way up, why would it be any different on the way down?

Yeah, the more I think about it and the more I stare at this chart, the more I think a parabolic bounce in $CAR could be a really big opportunity and potentially a real needle mover. No matter how you slice it, though, it is a sketchy trade. On paper, it checks all of my parabolic short criteria, but getting size on at the right time and executing it cleanly is a completely different challenge. For all I know, it may not even trigger. The ideal scenario would be a hard flush at the open, then catching the capitulation low into the left-side peak for an immediate rubber band snap back up into a halt. I know that is very specific, but that would be the perfect setup to me. Without some kind of capitulatory behavior, it will not trigger for me, and I will just stay on the sidelines.
peoplewish@Peoplewish

I think $CAR has major parabolic bounce potential. It is 75% off the highs and still has not had a real bounce. I watched those couple of halt-ups while I was working into my cover, and they happened with almost no effort. At this point, it would surprise me more if it did not have a parabolic bounce than if it did. It held the left-side peak of the prior base perfectly. Not a single 5-minute candle closed above the 10 EMA yesterday after 11:30 AM ET. I would bet there are still plenty of chaser shorts trapped in this with ugly averages.

@CREAMtrader @edu_trades @TheShortBear @sanglucci @TheOneLanceB No one talks about millions lost on the way up of shorts trying to guess the top. Everyone X nailed the trade, it’s what sucks about this platform. This was a shit setup, if you nailed this yesterday you got lucky on guessing.

Tough for me to look at this $CAR chart and think that the play was to try and short the top. But some genuinely elite traders pulled it off yesterday — @edu_trades, @TheShortBear, @sanglucci, @TheOneLanceB among them. Well played. Sincere congrats. BUT — serious warning to the vast majority of traders: Stay the hell away from trying to short the top of parabolic runners like this. These guys I mentioned are elite-level players with the experience, skills, and bankroll to navigate this dangerous trade. Extreme volatility, massive spreads, and razor thin liquidity = one misstep and you’re toast. I know for fact this exact setup has already wiped out huge chunks (or entire accounts) of many good traders in the last couple weeks — they weren't around to catch that envitable fade Only attempt this setup if you have serious experience, a massive account buffer, and it’s already one of your core strategies. Otherwise you’re a trainee pilot strapping into an F-18 cockpit and attempting a highly technical maneuver — you will crash and burn.

@infusionvictor While you may not build the next Bloomberg terminal, you can build stuff useful to you and how you trade/invest. Instead of paying for overpriced subscriptions that don’t feed you everything you need, so you need 10 different subs.

I built a live intraday theme monitor with Claude. Not a static watchlist. Not a manually refreshed table. A real, live, dashboard with live prices every second for the themes I actually trade. Here's what's it does: → Favourite themes tracked live intraday → 300+ stocks grouped by theme → Green/red breadth per theme (how many names up vs down) → % change at theme level, ranked → Custom themes I built myself (Psychedelics, Data Centers, Space...) → SPY reference baked in so I can see divergence instantly → Plugs into my news catalyst dashboard and watchlist so everything talks to each other → View it however I want: heatmap, table, radial chart Just one piece of a broader toolset I'm building into my app.

@Tradestl We have come to a point that actual news with facts behind them are no longer a thing. All news headlines from any major news outlet are reporting fake headlines. Very hard to trust any type of news source at the moment. Total disaster.

The headlines the past few weeks regarding Iran, the straight of Hormuz and almost anything else politically related have been so irritating I almost can’t open X as I don’t even want to see what’s coming next. As a trader of course X and social media has its benefits but at times the information overload and chaos of news flow can be detrimental to helping keep an open mind

@TheOneLanceB It’s amazing how stupid ppl are and how much people defend Ross. It’s very simple. Can Ross trade? Yes. Is he a really good trader of momo small caps? Yes. But he doesn’t do that, he creates liquidity, pumps to his thousands of followers and dumps on them, that’s it.

@daytradingzoo Truly amazing, last weekend was able to code my own full real time scanner and full trade review app in 3 days, without any coding experience. And everything runs perfect. Just insane capabilities. Best part saving me from a bunch of subscriptions that are super expensive

@TradetheMatrix1 Also I think lots of shorts got caught of guard and are fueling this low volume rally. Everyone and their mother was positioned for more downside. We shall see.

@TradetheMatrix1 While I do agree with you, I think it seems like USA/iran have come to a resolution. For the whole worlds sake I think it’s better this way, I don’t see us coming down, unless energy takes a huge hit in the next couple months.

@DeludedVision Retail traders make 10-20% of volume in small caps. Yet you got a bunch of short sellers thinking they are getting squeezed by someone one buying 1k shares in their moms basement…

@TradetheMatrix1 Also holding any position with size overnight is basically gambling at this point, where any fake headlines can wipe you out. I find it better to play the headline when it comes out take advantage of the volatility. Rinse and repeat. Expecting follow through right now is deadly

@TradetheMatrix1 Like I mentioned in one of your previous post. Very difficult to trade these oil plays with high convictions due to fake headlines daily. I highly doubt that will change in the coming weeks. Take profits when you have them and move on. Markets know TACO is coming

@SmallCapSmarts Past weeks alone you got UGRO, EEIQ, CYCN, ELAB, SKYQ. Plenty of ranges to scalp both long or short. If you can’t adjust to trade those tickers, think you would have to rethink your edge.

@SmallCapSmarts I think most people struggling are going about it the wrong way, just because shorting small cap edge changed doesn’t mean there’s no opportunities. Identify ranges, try some longs, if you don’t want to long short smaller ranges. Still plenty opportunities, just not like before.

I have a question for the “adapt or die” small-cap crowd. Not for me, but for everyone who’s struggling right now: How exactly do you adapt here? By scalping, going long, or using some new price action patterns? Most of you seem to deny that edge erosion exists, so no risk to your P&L here.
