In 2021, I advised the Raila team at the time that the biggest threat was the Hustler vs Dynasty narrative and to beat that, they needed to get an alternative approach to defeat that wave which by the way they never listened. I stated categorically that, any other candidate endorsed by Raila would have beaten Kasongo because he would have had nothing against them. He was all vibes and inshallah. It was simple but required a huge sacrifice, Raila's candidature. They were to get a candidate that was also viewed as a hustler or neither hustler nor dynasty and endorse that person then let it be the battle of hustlers. Currently, a similar narrative is being pushed and that narrative is even more lethal since its foundation is one that has left many scars in this nation which is the tribal narrative. It is the only card they, KANU orphans, have. I state it here today that if you need to beat this man then dismantle that narrative and to make that happen, the united opposition must do the hard and proper work to dismantle such a narrative before it takes root and shape. It is simple but many will have to make great sacrifices for the greater good. The thing about a lie is that when it comes from a head of state who is guaranteed media coverage, it spreads like wildfire. Before you know it, people in the villages start believing such. It is such a shame.
