Yesterday morning, a mentally challenged woman gave birth to a healthy baby. According to reports, she survived by eating from dustbins during her pregnancy, received no antenatal care, and lived in extremely difficult health conditions. She gave birth by the roadside with the help of traditional midwives.

This is ON He is 5 years old. He hails from Lamu. 24th May last year he was kidnapped and defiled after school. The child was found the next day by a neighbour and rushed to Mpeketoni hospital. His mum reached out to us because he could not speak. He just stopped speaking. They need a psychotherapist and we're willing to bring him here. We were able to case conference with the family and slowly the child told our therapist what happened and who the perpetrator was. ON was playing with his friend hide and seek in an abandoned house when the perpetrator swooped and grabbed him. He sodomized him the whole night and told him " Ukiambia mtu nitakunyonga" when he was found he couldn't sit and had bloody clothes After he opened up , we spoke to OCS of Kibaarani One Mr Njeri and with his help the perpetrator was arrested. We followed up this matter, helped with psychosocial support for the family. Someone went down for the court hearing to help prepare ON for court since he was scared and would cry a lot. He was able to testify safely in the privacy of the judges chambers. Today the perpetrator was sentenced to 30 years in jail. One rapist at a time. ON can now live without fear that he will be found again and we are also glad that on this particular Ade the perpetrator's family did not support or try to bail or hide him. #Usikimye
