The good news is we can draw strength from the natural world and look to our surroundings for both inspiration and guidance. We are not just on the earth, we are of the earth. Men like Trump and his cronies want to bifurcate folks from their natural state and intuitive awareness of what matters. The oligarchs view our planet as something to plunder and exploit, and myriad industries are now cheering them on. This will only increase as the few become wealthier and amass more and more power - and the rest of us are left to deal with the calamity caused by their rapacious greed. MAGA has been very successful as the tip of the spear of these efforts but their encroachment has only captured about a third of the American electorate. We can use the obvious weather-related emergencies we face to dig into that number and wake folks up to what is happening - and that caring for the planet is not just woke ideology but a matter of science and survival. That it is a matter of life and death for all us. It is still a very beautiful and forgiving planet, despite all its peril.
