You can now find me on RPlay!🥳 I'll be uploading all of my current YT videos and any audios that I've uploaded for free on Patreon to RPLAY! It's gonna take a little time to go through everything so please bear with me💛 Having another place for my SFW audios where I don't have to worry about AI moderation taking down my content for no reason makes me feel unbelievably relieved. The SFW audios will be FREE so any support there is would be greatly appreciated!

@zuess05 may work for a one-shottable small app or a small standalone feature after a few iterations of blind accepting edits, context gets filled in with literal irrelevant garbage eventually you get stuck wondering why "claude has become so shit"

Senior developers are currently having a massive existential crisis because Claude writes "messy code" A junior just used Claude to ship an entire feature in 2 hours. Meanwhile, the Senior is still spending 3 days reviewing code. When will y'all realize that literally nobody cares if the code is "messy"?

@yezhang1998 massive concern. considering they hold contracts with the US government, people need to accept the fact that they are basically granting full access to their computer and repository when they run claude code

Genuine question: if every major company starts scanning their entire codebase with Claude Code (auth flows, security logic, vuln patches, all of it) isn’t that a massive privacy concern? Anthropic would theoretically get visibility into the core product logic and security infrastructure for huge chunks of the world. Even with enterprise “no training” promises and zero-retention policies, that’s a lot of trust to place in a single vendor. Am I overthinking this, or is it actually problematic?

Big personal update. My role @stripe is evolving, and I couldn't be more excited. 💜 Most of my career, I’ve been focused on helping founders get paid on the internet. Now I’m shifting to what happens after. I’m leading Financial Accounts at Stripe, and I'll be focused on how businesses store, move, and spend money. Imagine being able to spend your Stripe balance immediately. No waiting a week for your funds to arrive in your bank account. It just works the way you'd expect money to work. Still early, with plenty to build. Exactly the kind of problem I love.

More observations from Shanghai: 1. A full-time, live-in nanny costs only $1,500/month and a personal chef costs $7/hour. There's alot of support for professional working couples here. 2. Didi (Chinese Uber) rides are $3-5 for most trips and you can order delivery for anything for a few bucks. Things are super convenient. 3. Speaking of cars, every Didi I've been in has been a Chinese EV. Feels like China has adopted EVs much faster than the US. Tesla has <5% market share here. 4. The best food is inside the high-end malls, which are everywhere. Service is outstanding at most places and you don't have to tip. 5. Now the tradeoffs - there are ALOT of people. Traffic is everywhere and motorbikes have no qualms about riding on the sidewalks. Have to be on the lookout for my kids. 6. I haven't seen a single blue sky day since I've been here. The air does feel a bit cleaner now thanks to the EVs. Overall, if you make anywhere close to US tech salary here you can live very well.

Some initial observations about Shanghai after not being back for 10 years: 1. The city is incredibly modern - more so than New York and even Tokyo. It's funny riding modern subways and trains here and reading about how California has to shut down the BART/Caltrain due to budget cuts on X. 2. Apps run everything - Wechat, Amap (Google Maps), Dianping (Yelp), Alipay, etc. Basically, there's a Chinese equivalent of every US app and more. 3. Meals are probably 1/3 the price of the US and absolutely delicious. There's ALOT of variety in Chinese regional cuisines. Funny enough almost every restaurant has a Dianping coupon you can use to get free desserts. I like my spicy food :) 4. Fewer foreigners than I expected and concentrated in a few areas. Coming from the US, it's just a pain to have to get a visa, set up eSim, download all the apps, etc. You have to do alot of research before coming here. 5. The overhead highways kind of ruin the vibe a little with the cityscape. 6. People still smoke alot, but appears to be mostly older generation. 7. Speaking of the old generation, they know to have fun. Went to Fuxing park and many elders dancing, playing yoyo, singing, and more. 8. In contrast, from what I hear, the younger generation is working super hard and many college grads cannot find jobs are are "tang ping" (lie flat). It's great to be back, will share more later.

YC rejecting Delve means they probably got 500k for free btw I'm no expert on these matters, but from what I understand YC occasionally says: 'hey, we no longer want to be associated with you. you can have the money and the equity, it's fine. but you're no longer part of yc' Delve's last valuation was at 300M, so this is at least 21M in paper money YC gave away just to no longer be seen with Delve. Honestly, I almost never root against companies and don't blame YC here (if true). Hoping the Delve founders figure things out. But will they pivot out of an area so focused on trust when they have none? Or will they pull of a miracle and get it back, when nobody believes in them? Or will they give up in the face of extreme self-imposed adversity? I don't know.
