If you have a SEM and want to help imaging, let me know, let's try a micron version
Lets make the smallest @emm0sh benchy-v2 in the world
(until somebody e-beams it)

Nemi@nemimilo
@emm0sh @jimbelosic how about a 1 mm version?
English

@emm0sh @jimbelosic It was made with two photon lithography, I could have went far smaller towards single micron digits but properly imaging it would have been a pain 😅
English

@nemimilo @jimbelosic competing to see who can make the smallest is such a good idea
English

@nemimilo @lukeweston @jwt0625 Um, I haven’t had time to visit Austria properly, but will look up the company later…
English

@humphilomath @jwt0625 You’re not missing anything.
Nano 3D printing with 2-photon absorption has the potential to disrupt or replace a lot of other nanofab techniques.
It doesn’t scale to full wafer throughput, just like how the industry doesn’t use EBL at prod scale. But it’s such a good R&D tool.
English

@mechadense @jwt0625 Surely, resolution depends on the objective (+print parameters) used and therefore the speed/cost
English

@jwt0625 Could this be used to make reversible microclips for 300μm diameter SPM needles for automated needle exchange with a needle magazine?
To not …
★ need to replace a non-cheap qPlus nc-AFM sensor
★ be doomed to the tap to fix tip hack
★ be doomed to manual needle fix out of UHV
English

god this looks so fun

English

@jwt0625 nope, still working in extremely niche and wacky 3d printing however
English

@inventorOli Sounds like you need a better table or base for the arm, big vibrations seems like
English

Agree, from the outside it sounds like crazy…and it really is, just in a different way than you would expect

I’ll never forget moving to Silicon Valley and going ‘Wait, Silicon Valley is just San Jose, Cupertino and a couple more shitty little strip malls’ It’s an international psy-op
