Many Black and Brown people saw him not as a man of peace, but as someone who aligned with Trump’s ideology in ways that often excluded or disrespected their communities. While no one should meet the tragic end he did, it’s also important to be honest: his legacy was not one of unity or healing, but of conflict and division. He should be remembered with pity, not celebration
