Traveling through 🇹🇭 and found a confusing ☕️ ad. So someone is pouring already brewed coffee onto a V60, which is on top of a paper cup with the lid still on. The cup is being marketed as both espresso AND dripped coffee. With a packet of instant on the side. What is this?

Interesting. For some reason I can’t place an app limit on Instagram 🤔 Any idea why? My leading theory is that it’s a problem with the app name containing a Greek letter ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ All other beta apps I have can be limited just fine

@elonmusk The curiosity is killing me. So is the app doing 1000s of individual RPCs? Or is it making making few calls to some sort of API Gateway that is spinning off 1000s of calls to microservices?

Btw, I’d like to apologize for Twitter being super slow in many countries. App is doing >1000 poorly batched RPCs just to render a home timeline!

@Goli_beta_mast @NanouuSymeon Other options of course include the few days where recruiters are on campus, and my favorite is tech meetups. The meetup route opened a lot of doors for me. I appreciate that this is not accessible for everyone. I was very lucky

As a Developer, how long did it take you to find a job?

I don't know if this whole thread/'insight into how I work' was interesting or helpful. But there you go. Honestly I just needed to feel good about my job for a sec in lieu of the current news. Trying not to think about what's going to happen tomorrow at work

The next step then is to go back to thinking about the product. What have you seen that can be improved? What are other opportunities to make the product better, or cheaper, or easier to maintain?

After 2 internships, and my first year as a FTE at Meta, I think I’m slowly getting the hang of it. Here’s a little secret, I don’t know the code I work on. And it keeps on changing. And growing. It’s like I’ll always feel like a new joiner. And that’s ok 👌
