𝗚𝗢𝗟𝗗 𝗦𝗠𝗨𝗚𝗚𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗥𝗢𝗕𝗕𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗭𝗜𝗠𝗕𝗔𝗕𝗪𝗘. Since sanctions were removed from Zimbabwe in March 2024, the Reserve Bank’s Fidelity Printers and Refineries (FPR) should have reverted to being the only entity allowed to export our gold. This would ensure that 10% royalties are paid on all gold when prices are above $5,000 per ounce, while the Reserve Bank pays producers 30% of their revenue in local currency to retain much-needed foreign currency, leaving more value — about 15% of total exports — in government coffers. However, our gold continues to be flown out of the country on private jets without passing through Fidelity. This robs the state of about 15% in fees and deprives it of a critical mechanism to generate more foreign reserves from raw mineral exports. As a consequence, the nation perpetually suffers from foreign currency shortages. In 2025 our government announced that Zimbabwe exported $1.9 billion worth of gold. Meanwhile, Dubai and Rand Refinery declared more than $8 billion worth of gold imports from Zimbabwe during the same period. These illicit flows of wealth out of the country are a result of private individuals exporting gold instead of Fidelity. This was not an issue when Zimbabwe was under sanctions because Fidelity, as a government entity, could not export gold and receive US dollar transfers due to the fact that US banks were prohibited from clearing payments to Zimbabwean government institutions. Nonetheless, since 4 March 2024, Zimbabwean government institutions were removed from sanctions. Consequently, Fidelity should revert to being the only institution exporting our gold, while MMCZ should be the sole exporter of our minerals, to prevent government losses through under-invoicing and transfer pricing. This is the very reason these institutions were established in the first place. One major reason President Mnangagwa stubbornly refuses to acknowledge that sanctions on the government were removed in 2024, is to provide himself and his cronies with cover to continue smuggling gold without taking it through the Reserve Bank. Yet the very reason the President was placed under Magnitsky sanctions, is because the Americans accuse him of corruption in the form of gold and diamond smuggling, as well as serious human rights abuses, which we are now witnessing due to CAB3. Another major issue is that Fidelity possesses state-of-the-art gold refining equipment that enables it to produce world-grade bullion. However, in 2009 it lost its membership in the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) after producing less than the required 10 tonnes per year. This resulted in Fidelity losing its LBMA bullion-grade certification. But instead of Mnangagwa pushing for Fidelity to rejoin the LBMA since sanctions were removed — to enable Fidelity to begin producing certified gold bullion that Zimbabwe could sell directly on the market without relying on a Dubai refinery, or more critically, use it as collateral in foreign banks to secure loans worth up to ten times the value of the gold in order to pay our debts — and instead of positioning Zimbabwe to refine gold from Congo, Zambia, and the 48 other African countries that don’t have refineries to earn the massive smelting profits generated during the Chidzero and Tsimba era, the Mnangagwa administration chose not to re-register Fidelity with the LBMA. As a result, the nation is losing out on gold smelting revenues, royalties, and gold-backed loans that could be used to repay sovereign debt, drive infrastructure projects, and strengthen the balance of payments. The reason the President does not want Fidelity to rejoin the LBMA is because his family is now among the top three largest gold producers in Zimbabwe, and by exporting gold directly to Dubai without going through Fidelity, they pocket over 19% of the royalties while avoiding remitting the 30% foreign currency to the Reserve Bank. These are some of the reasons why I say no to 2030.

Xenophobia against Nigerians in SA is disgusting and must be condemned outright. No excuses. But nationalizing MTN? That's just shooting ourselves in the foot. It scares away every serious investor, kills jobs, and tanks the economy we desperately need. Fight bad behavior with smart diplomacy and strong institutions, not revenge economics that will hurt ordinary Nigerians more. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Xenophobia: No Foreign Investor Can Be Equated to a Nigerian Life, MTN Should Be Nationalised – Oshiomhole I'm aware that MTN is quoted on the stock exchange, Nigerian shareholders can hold on to their shares but we should take away South African control. We should re-privatise it so Nigerians can take it over, and there would be no repatriation of funds to South Africa. During the campaign of President Ramaphosa, a major shareholder in MTN, he argued that foreigners are doing the jobs of South Africans. Now South Africa has high unemployment, and some have transferred aggression against other Africans. Life is more important. Nigeria should not look for investors who choose wealth over human life. Zimbabwe just doesn’t need interchanges, it needs better freeways, bypasses, overpasses, service roads, arteries to push easier flow of traffic. It’s pointless to have interchanges into the small old and ancient secondary roads we have in Harare where traffic is blocked by cars entering and leaving the freeway. We need off-ramps, service roads and overpasses to give better flow.
COZWVA@cozwva

THE government says it is set to construct nine interchanges in Harare at an estimated cost of US$250 million, with work on the first project at the intersection of Harare Drive and Airport Road already underway.

Hi Crime Watch Zim. I work for the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) office here in Zimbabwe. Our office helps people track and verify cargo and vehicles coming through the Port of Dar es Salaam into Zimbabwe. We have engaged with one of Hezy Motors’ clearing agents in Tanzania, and so far there are around 70 vehicles linked to Hezy Motors that are still stuck in Tanzania. Most of them have not been cleared, some have accumulated storage charges, and some have already been auctioned after overstaying at the port. We are advising people who imported cars through Hezy Motors and are struggling to get answers to visit our offices so we can help check the status of their vehicles for free. We can check whether the vehicle is still at the port, has been auctioned, or was never received at the Tanzania port at all. One of the major problems is that some customers pay the full amount to agencies like Hezy Motors, but when the vehicle arrives in Dar es Salaam, there is still an outstanding balance needed before full access to the vehicle documents is released. If that balance is not paid within the required time, the vehicle cannot be cleared and may eventually be auctioned to another buyer. This is where many problems seem to start. Some customers are not being given full access to important documents such as the Bill of Lading or CAP link details. Without those documents, it becomes difficult for customers to independently track or verify the whereabouts of their vehicles. The agent can continue telling the customer that the car is on the way or delayed, while the vehicle is actually sitting at the port accumulating storage charges. In some cases, when we check the system using the chassis number or Bill of Lading, the same vehicle a customer paid for is now appearing under another person’s name because it was auctioned after not being cleared on time. From what we are seeing, Hezy Motors now appears to be struggling to pay the remaining balances required to release many of these vehicles. This may explain why so many vehicles are remaining at the port for long periods and accumulating storage charges. Some customers’ money may have been used elsewhere, making it difficult to clear all the outstanding vehicles. Normally, if business is done properly, a vehicle should be cleared within the free storage period of 15 days. After that, storage charges start increasing daily. Vehicles that remain unclaimed for long periods, usually after around 90 days, can be auctioned according to port regulations. Some customers are being told there are “storage issues,” and in some cases that is true because the vehicles are sitting uncleared while money to release them is still being looked for. We are simply encouraging people who dealt with Hezy Motors and need clarity to come forward so we can help check the real status of their vehicles in our system. TPA's contact details are available below!

𝗠𝗨𝗚𝗔𝗕𝗘 𝗩𝗦 𝗠𝗡𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗚𝗪𝗔. Between 1980 and 2000, Mugabe built 8,600 km of roads, electrified 30% of Zimbabwe’s railway system, and bought over 80 locomotives for the national railways. He also built 5,700 schools. All of this was done while fighting a war against apartheid South Africa in Mozambique for 8 years, fighting sanctions imposed by the apartheid government, and dealing with ESAP in the 1990s. Even under sanctions between 2000 and 2017, he built 15 universities, 12 poly technics, 10 nursing colleges and resurfaced the Bulawayo–Harare, Mutare–Harare, and Plumtree–Mutare roads. That’s over 1,300 km completed under sanctions. President Mnangagwa has failed to fix the railways. He has failed to finish the 586 km Beitbridge–Harare road. He has not built one university. Why should we give Mnangagwa another 2 years?

President @edmnangagwa is building very beautiful roads in Zimbabwe… CAB3 ensures this continues. The man is COMPETENT & FOCUSED, I wouldn’t mind giving him 5 more years to continue DEVELOPING the country’s infrastructure… People want development, nothing else. NSSA said it registered almost half a million NEW FORMAL EMPLOYEES in the past 2 years… that translates to almost half a million FORMAL JOBS created in Zimbabwe in the past 2 years… Those doubting the numbers are simply unaware of the NEW MINES, NEW FACTORIES, and a whole lot of infrastructure projects ongoing in the country… All sectors of the Zimbabwean economy are experiencing growth, thus creating new jobs & other opportunities for Zimbabweans… Do you know this👇🏽 area???

KZN has about 12 million people, Africans make up 85%, 9% Indians and 4% whites. Guess what? The economy of KZN is owned by the 9% Indians and 4% whites. Instead, of marching against this injustice, those fools decided to go for the easy targets who do not control that economy.
