I tried vibe coding for the first time and, well... ideas are no longer cheap this is the story of what happened:

@Drewfromweb3 It's cool man! I think the natural feeling, slipups etc is what makes it not feel like AI. I hate to say that uniformity, hitting a queue etc is replicatable, so having a mix of things is nice also, the internet is just one giant shill these days, doing anything not that = good

I was shooting a video yesterday as usual and I had the idea to try to say something on camera in one take No script, no heavy editing, no thinking, simply me speaking about what's going on It is definitely a format that can be used to add more context on whatever I'm doing in general without having to spend hours on end editing Do you enjoy that type of straightforward minimal editing content?

AI is only as smart as the data it can see, which is why it's always hungry for your private data. That directly creates the temptation to build privacy-invading forms of AI. At this point, the tech space feels like the Wild West. The question is: what happens when we can’t keep it under control? And more importantly, is crypto(graphy) the only real solution?

@nevaaron @harryhalpin Appreciate you too. It feels so odd to me, that now more so than ever, these OG ideals of privacy, user owned money, cryptography, sovereign escape hatches from authoritarian doom feel so obvious. Yet, the industry has strayed further from god than it even has. Trying times...

Cryptographers are the good guys. I spent weeks (months?) researching and making this mini doc, I hope you like it. This topic means a lot to me. The future of humanity will be determined by many things, one of them cryptography, as it has been many times before. The people that care enough to do something about the reality we live in, even in the face of personal cost, aren’t given appreciation enough. They’ve saved the world many times, yet are treated like criminals because criminals also use the world saving technology. I hope this video is a small step towards changing that perception.

@Grantblocmates @alexblocmates means a lot man I made it in the depths of feeling very disenchanted about the world I saw around me and how the tech was treated, and the people who cared about it were treated Time for a change back to where it should have never left for me

@SolLunix Where I've been at for a long time, I think I might be on a bit of a tear with these soon, common misconceptions E.g - why do people think Telegram is private/encrypted? It 100% is not, and the industry not using Signal as the default is honestly insanity.

@_joe_harris_ If anyone is building things around kill switches for robots and AI, I’d love to talk. Love to talk even more if it includes cryptography.

robotics needs better talent, not just ideas or capital get good at any of these and become the person every robotics team is trying to hire: autonomy stack: – state estimation, planning, controls or the in‑house stack nobody else can touch sim & test infrastructure: – lossless logs, reproducible sims, rl loops (nvidia isaac sim, gazebo, mujoco) fleet ops & deployment: – ota updates, connectivity, getting data off robots in the field (greengrass, alloy, formant, or duct tape) data, debugging & replay: – figuring out why the robot did what it did, logs, time‑series, post‑mission analysis (mostly homegrown, rerun/foxglove, alloy) embedded & edge systems: – getting all of this to run on jetson / rb5 / weird industrial pcs safety, compliance & verification: – kill switches, test harnesses, ethics boards, fda submissions, and the standards work nobody wants to do data engine & labelling: – building the labelling, eval, and feedback loops that keep the robot from drifting into chaos go to market & raas: – pricing, contracts, usage‑based billing, customer success for robots‑as‑a‑service if you’re trying to jump into robotics (or want to work with us), my dms are open 🦾
