This week, we took our voices straight to Congress, where more than 600 of us met with over 200 offices between the house and senate to make one thing clear: our people’s lives are not disposable, and our fight for their freedom will never be silenced. We called upon lawmakers to end U.S. weapons to Israel, speak out against the immoral, inhumane displacement and illegal annexation of Palestinians, to seek justice for Americans harmed by Israel, to protect our First Amendment rights, and to restore U.S. support for humanitarian aid that keeps Palestinians in Gaza alive. Just like last year, some members listened, others tried to avoid us all together - but the pressure is building and NO amount of repression or political posturing will make us disappear. This week wasn’t the end; it was another step forward. From STL to D.C. to every community across this country, the fight continues for justice, for freedom, and for our honorable and steadfast people who have endured the worst. The fight for my people’s rights is endless and a promise carried by many generations before us. One we will never abandon. Every day till liberation.

I’m not into identity politics, but it’s wild watching non-Palestinians lecture Palestinians about who is “pro-Palestinian.” Why should Palestinians in Gaza, the people surviving bombardment, starvation, and annihilation, be told to trust the same Democratic politicians who continue funding Israel’s destruction of their homes? Why should Palestinians in the West Bank ignore the settler violence escalating under the protection of the very politicians people like AOC refuse to meaningfully confront? Why should Palestinians in the diaspora stay silent while politicians and commentators constantly weaponize accusations of antisemitism to shut down Palestinian voices and blur the line between Judaism and Zionism? And more importantly, why are outsiders treated as the moral authority over Palestinians themselves? If someone is truly an ally, then being an ally means listening, not overriding the people living through this. It means understanding that Palestinians do not need permission to define their own liberation, their own enemies, or their own movement. We are more than capable of speaking for ourselves.

This young Palestinian Christian is Layan Nasser, a member of St Peter's Anglican Church in Birzeit, occupied West Bank. She has been imprisoned 3 times by 'israel'. Church of England bishops criticised her 2024 abduction at gunpoint in a dawn raid by the IOF. The Bishop of Chelmsford (Rt Rev'd Dr Guli Francis-Dehqani) visited Layan's family in the West Bank and lit a candle for her in her chapel in England. Layan's detentions: Summer 2021: 2 months in military detention — accused of student activism with the Democratic Progressive Student Pole, a university group 'israel' designated 'unlawful'. April – Dec 2024: Administrative detention (8 months). Arrested from her home. Held without charge or trial, based on secret intelligence declaring her a 'security threat'. October 2025: Re‑detained & prison sentence (7.5 months). Re‑arrested during a court session at Ofer Military Court. Convicted in absentia the month prior (after the court told her legal team the hearing had been postponed) on retroactive charges from her 2021 university activism. Thank God for her release today.
