This is a great opportunity for young people interested in gaining an insight into tennis journalism at two of the sport's most prestigious venues. I can personally attest to the generosity of Mike in helping younger journalists, and this is a fitting way to honour his memory.

@TheRestHistory I'm only on episode 1 but Tom unnecessarily clarifying that the name of Peter's father's reformist minister wasn't 'Matt Veyev', and then the running pronunciation of the name as if it were, is amusing me greatly.

@CharlieRatpig @jon_mcgregor I've reread Fingersmith a couple of times recently just trying to tease it apart and see how it's done but I always end up just getting caught up in the pleasure of it. I'm ashamed to say I haven't read most of the others 🤦‍♀️ but maybe I will now they're on a list.

No, because it's a really reductive/dismissive way of talking about a disability and perpetuates a stereotypical view of what ADHD is and how it presents, which continues to contribute to wild inequalities in whose ADHD gets recognised, diagnosed and treated.

I went for a walk & now feel like I should say something nice, so: Laura Robson gets better & better as broadcaster. Undemonstratively but immensely knowledgeable, infectiously interested & unlike others, brings her Tour experience without compulsively making it about herself.

@robcollins2016 Anecdotally, I am far from the only one. Maybe we're a tiny minority. Clear from the fact that this situation exists that nobody gives a shit about whether the service is good for tennis fans or not, I'm under no illusion about that. But like I said, rip-off, egregiousness, etc.

@robcollins2016 I have absolutely zero interest in those sports. If I did I wouldn't pay £35 a month for ONE streaming service. And if the reverse was true, their tennis platform would still be inferior, or certainly no better than, other services which I also need to pay for to follow sport.

And you know, it's not like Sky does anything BETTER than the other services we used to have/still have? Maybe it would be different if there were aspects of the service that were better that offset how terrible they are at making matches available on-demand.
