The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC), and its policing partners from the @TorontoPolice , @VancouverPD, @OPP_News and @rcmpgrcpolice are warning Canadians and people planning to visit Canada to remain vigilant against FIFA World Cup™ themed frauds. Large-scale events generate significant demand for tickets, travel, and accommodations. Fraudsters often take advantage of this demand by advertising fraudulent tickets, fake travel packages, and non-existent short-term rental accommodations. As Canada prepares to host matches during the FIFA World Cup 2026™, authorities are encouraging fans to take precautions when purchasing tickets or booking travel and accommodations. A disturbing incident reportedly took place over the weekend during an eight-year-old's birthday party at Extreme Air Park in New Westminster, British Columbia. The family involved, they had booked a party room at the facility and were told in advance that they could bring their own birthday cake for the celebration, provided they paid the required fee. After arriving for the party, a staff member went to place the cake in the fridge without issue. However, the situation escalated when a manager allegedly approached the group and said bringing the cake violated rules. What followed shocked everyone in attendance. The manager smashed the eight-year-old's birthday cake during the dispute and, later punched one of the parents. The incident turned what was meant to be a joyful birthday celebration into a chaotic and upsetting experience for the children and families present. A brutal wav for an eiaht-vear-old's birthday party to end. 🎥: safestreetsvancouver/IG
