For grads, the Labour government have increased Plan 2 repayments - to fund their largesse, public sector wage rises and big increases to benefits.
And now for students, they are effectively getting rid of student lets.

The results of the Renters Rights Act: - mass evictions as landlords sell up - huge fall in the number of properties available to rent (flat hunting is worse than ever) - landlords/letting agents intensely vetting tenants - mega-landlords taking over the market - traditional student lets effectively banned Good for renters with £50,000 in the bank ready to buy. Bad for just about everyone else. The consequences were obvious to anyone who has studied economics and yet Ministers just didn’t listen. And now we have politicians calling for full rent controls. Since 2015, GP surgeries have had to serve hundreds more homes each, and over a thousand practices have closed. The result is simple: too many people struggling to get an appointment when they need one. We are calling for a new approach: no doctors, no development. When new homes are built, they must come with new or expanded GP surgeries — properly funded and ready before people move in.

This sounds totally mad. *Every* single new development, regardless of size? Needing a dedicated new surgery of its own? With no discretion as to other local infrastructure that might be needed more?
What modelling have they done, if any, about the impact on housebuilding, already at a record, devastating low?
