@rubenhume If there were such a thing, the Japanese color palette would probably be dark hues of brown, gray and blue (iki colors).

@kleeposting I've learned to make this sound more-or-less fluently, but occasionally I still feel like I have to pause a little while speaking, deliberately perform a lisp, and then continue speaking lol.

As a German I want to complain about the stupid English "th", which is probably the language's most difficult sound. But then again, every charming German accent is based on pronouncing the as ze

In the modern academic humanities, there are a bunch of words that sound cool but mean nothing, like "liminal". Like, if you say "Eataly lies in the liminal space between restaurant and grocery store", the word "liminal" literally means nothing, but sounds really cool

@Solzi_Sez What a coincidence, I just read Mozi 31: Percipient Ghosts III a couple of days ago and was thinking about AI.

For example, a philosophy governing the ethics of *users* of AI (e.g. not cheating, being lazy, plagiarizing). It is a perfect time for a “be watchful over yourself” philosophy to reemerge. [Note that not a single poster in that thread had this thought, hence the need.]
Michael Millerman@millerman

This is a time when philosophers can prove that philosophy still is and deserves to be the queen of the sciences and the king of the realm. In my opinion, AI as a topic is deeply philosophical from head to toe, and thinkers shouldn't shy away from the many questions it raises

@DrMcFillin I have no good experiences with anti-depressants, but the longer you are in a depressive state generally, the more likely it is to become part of your nature.

People are never told this: The longer you remain on antidepressants the chances of turning an episodic emotional struggle into chronic disability increases dramatically. You've been told.

@Samhain948689 The formula is to not use spacing. LLM's get this wrong, actually. It's for intruducing tangential thoughts—kinda like this—to a sentence such that you can effectively completely ignore them without losing the meaning of the main clause! (I realize you prob know this, sry!)

The only lesson Europeans must draw from the Greenland case is simple: that’s the fate that befalls all idiotic European nations that fantasize about going it alone in a world of increasingly bullying imperial powers. The irony is that Greenland voted to leave the EU in 1982, and Denmark had to hold two referendums in 1992 and 1993 to ratify the Maastricht treaty (risking to derail the whole treaty process). I hope you’ve learned your lesson now.

@justalexoki Oh I neglected to finish my point - the Uni's account supposedly was barred from using any data from our conversations anywhere else. Anyway, it's interesting ‐ a kind plagiarism can happen without anyone even intending or noticing it, because it's "in the ether", so to speak.

@justalexoki My advisor used to urge me to use the University's Copilot account for just this reason that I hadn't considered before - that whatever you enter into the chat, will thereafter be "out there". Another instance of that LLM might subtly suggest your thoughts to another user.
