Röbynn Europe, a Black woman and former personal training manager at Equinox, was awarded $11.25 million after a jury found she was fired due to race and gender discrimination. Between 2018 and 2019, she was terminated after being late 47 times over about 10 months. Equinox claimed it was an attendance issue, but Europe presented evidence of a hostile work environment, racist and sexist comments from colleagues, and inconsistent enforcement of rules for non-Black employees. A federal jury in New York sided with her in May 2023, awarding $1.25 million in compensatory damages and $10 million in punitive damages. This is what accountability looks like! 👏🏾

@woundjob It was bad enough finding soiled diapers in the shelves, and people being lazy and stuffing frozen foods/meats in the shelves like 😭 but the poop always confused me because they got cameras… it would be one thing if it seemed like an unfortunate embarrassing accident… but idk

Transphobes are calling em delusional, racist, a misogynist for saying that trans women can also experience FGM… as if I myself am not a victim of FGM, guys I literally had my genitals mutilated. I see a parallel between my experience and others experiencing genital cutting.

I’m an African and Carribean woman who had my vagina mutilated as a CHILD in 1 of the FGM capitals of the world. Because I know transsexual women are FEMALE too you assume I must be transsexual too, and would rather discard me and mock my abuse + trauma over my inclusion of them
