@jonwkeyrush Just to be clear before I say this… 100% believe churches should help their communities and the vast majority of churches I know do. But I do wonder how many of “the church just wants your money” and “tithing is unbiblical” are also upset that churches aren’t doing more.

Many left churches, or encouraged others to, for not talking about Charlie Kirk. I wonder if how those people might feel about churches who said nothing about families losing their SNAP benefits and now facing food insecurity.

Right or wrong, here's what I think is going to happen to churches in the next few years: 1) The Conservatism / Progressivism divide will unfortunately get farther and farther apart in the coming years (Conservatism becomes more overtly "Christian", Progressivism becomes even more openly anti-Christian / secular) 2) Cultural flashpoints will continue to arise like COVID, Presidential Elections, BLM riots, Kirk assassination 3) Churches that try really hard to be a church where committed progressives can worship without being uncomfortable will lose a large chunk of the solid conservative Christians every time there's a flashpoint. I'm not CALLING FOR that, I'm predicting that. 4) Churches that are more openly clear about the cultural implications of Christianity (that very obviously aligns significantly more with modern conservatism than progressivism) will gain those people. 5) For lack of a better phrase, the rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer, because over time you can't really build a church with people committed to modern progressivism.

Which is an easier path? Teaching libertarians to care for the common good of society, or teaching socialistic collectivists that the common good should serve individuals?
