It's fun how arcane technical details can bring back so many memories.

possibly my least favorite spiritual culture thing is arms races over who is more nondual
noticing that consciousness has no sharp boundaries and personal identity probably isn’t as real as it feels doesn’t mean you’re forever banned from making binary distinctions

They blow the leaves into immense piles, and then rake them into huge bags made of polyethylene, a byproduct of fossil fuel refinement which will take longer to decompose than the geologic processes which produced the fuel to begin with; a very, very long time.

i thought bay area would be a nice place to grow up/raise kids because of the good food, weather, and communities but hearing from people who actually grew up there it’s ultra competitive/stressful/not diverse?
