When Golden Gate capital sold Red Lobster, it was still doing fine, no? Either the next PE firm that bought it made a bad decision or mismanaged it.
Regardless — what’s the point? Are we now trying to regulate “should be” sophisticated enterprises from isolated bad decisions?

@aaronburnett Mirrors a bit how Chile invested their fortunes from nitrates/saltpeter into infrastructure and future generations (prior to the revolution into synthetics). Peru did not. Compare their economies today. H/t @CJHandmer

@nickgalano Yes they make no secret about the diversification away from oil. It’s a smart strategy when you have such a cash cow depending on one commodity. Investing in solar->intelligence is a strong bet with basis in two trends.

If you’re trying to diversify off of say oil for example, then investing in the largest ever solar energy to intelligence conversion platform being built does just kind of make sense.

Today, we're announcing Heaviside, our foundation model for electromagnetism.
Trained on tens of millions of designs and over 20 years of proprietary simulation data, Heaviside predicts electromagnetic behavior from geometry in 13ms, which is 800,000x faster than a commercial solver.
