I shared with my yoga students the concept of “Unwelt” that I learned from @nickolebrown and her wonderful eco-poetry course through @Orion_Magazine. It was such fun to consider the unique Umwelt of so many animals as we flowed — bears, dogs, crows… to name a few!

Just taught my first ever yoga class that I designed myself — Animalasana Vinyasa! We flowed through all my favorite poses inspired by animals. Yoga is a practice of awareness, so it only made sense to bring in some poetry…

Publishing poetry is crazy. I pitched my essay to three places yesterday. Two got back asking for it within 5 hours. One of them emailed a really nice, personalized rejection this morning. I still have a pending poetry submission from December 2020.
