@faraigwenhure @M_Jay94 @zimlive This is what I could find from leaked documents. Obviously gold rocketed after this, lithium rose and then fell, platinum up but GDI never took off. Ideally I'd like to find out what was paid for Sandawana and the other ZMDC mines.

Zimbabwe: @ZimLive reports that VP Chiwenga claims $1.9b was stolen to be paid to entities linked with presidential rival Kudakwashe Tagwirei for a 35% stake in Kuvimba Mining. Not sure it's theft, but a new disclosure forced by the IMF may help us work out what is going on. 🧵

@nickpdonovan @zimlive The fact of the matter is that Kuvimba’s total capitalisation was 300 million ,government 2 years later pays 1.9 bln for 35 percent of Kuvimba ,the question is what did Kuvimba do ,for 1.9 bln to become 35 percent of something that was 300 mil in the last 24 months

This isn't ancient history. The payments are still being made: $100m is due to be paid each year from 2026 to 2028 to the owner of the TBs, $175m due in 2029, and $825m due to be paid between 2030-32.
