If you’d asked me at the start of the playoffs who do I want Seattle to meet, the answer would’ve been unhesitatingly “New England” Nothing I’ve seen in the games since has remotely altered that opinion. Seattle has the better offense, defense and kickers. Just don’t fuck up!

Wow, this chart is simply unreal. How is this even possible in a developed country in the twenty-first century?

How I see the first conference championship game going tonight. Fancy the Patriots to load the box on defense and say to Sean Peyton. “Let Stidham beat us”. I think he’s capable of doing that. No way he would’ve remained on the roster for 3 seasons if Peyton didn’t trust him.

The number of murders recorded in London dropped to its lowest level per capita since records began. There were 97 homicides in the capital in 2025, down 36 per cent from 153 in 2019. 2025 saw a homicide rate of 1.1 per 100,000 people - safer than comparable global cities such as New York at 2.8, Paris (1.6), Toronto (1.6), Berlin (3.2), Los Angeles (5.6), Chicago (11.7), and Philadelphia (12.3).

NEW: 93 murders in London (pop: ~9m) in 12 months to October. The city's murder rate is now lowest for decades; perhaps centuries. comment.press/7892

@RobGutmann As an LFC fan you'd be taking away one of our biggest edges (that we value players better than the general market)

The Isak, Wissa + a million other messy sagas demonstrate why the transfer system needs a revolution. I’d advocate every player having a designated fluctuating value, determined by some FIFA/UEFA run super dooper AI algorithm, that sets players’ market prices on a daily basis. Assuming a club matched that valuation and prescribed payment terms, any player would be allowed to leave mid contract. Obviously, all factors (including contract length) would be priced in to the fluctuating value. Clubs still free to negotiate lower fees if mutually acceptable. Player free to either accept or reject wage offer, or choice of club. 🤷‍♂️

A bit more on Wirtz. You can see the tactics board in this clip. The whole thing works if he replaces Jota imo. @TheAnfieldWrap

@DistanceCovered @TheAnfieldWrap We’ll get better wherever he plays no argument there. But ‘attacking game’ is shots (and xg obv) as graham said.. here you’re taking the highest xg player off the pitch and replacing him with an AM. When you could just upgrade production from the AM position what’s the upside ?

@DistanceCovered @TheAnfieldWrap Jota was at 0.6 npxg in the league last season - not remotely Wirtz’s game … we’d be paying 100+ million to remove shots/production from the side

@MouglasDark @DistanceCovered Yeah this is a nonsense The percentile refers to other attacking mids and other forwards respectively - so for example firmino was a >0.4 npxg forward .. Wirtz is 0.25 npxg AM etc You can’t overlay them and claim they’re the same What you’ve posted is a chart crime

@nickwealthall @DistanceCovered It really doesn't matter. Put Wirtz against forwards and you naturally see his xG drop in percentile and progression increase because he plays deeper, Firmino vice versa. The players still share the same attributes - progression and chance creation from passing & dribbling.

@djh1203 @DistanceCovered Slots just done an interview in which he says we need to rotate more We won’t be playing our record signing out of position to accommodate others - and he wouldn’t have come if that was the plan Agree you can play him off the left - he’ll always have attackers in front of him

@nickwealthall @DistanceCovered We shall see. I don’t see any one of Gravenberch, Mac Allister or Szoboszlai losing their place. So he either plays off the left or we see a lot of the “Double 10” they played vs Villa/City with Salah from the right and whoever plays LW getting into the box more.

@djh1203 @DistanceCovered Well if we’ve signed peak Messi it’ll fine I agree. Wirtz is closer to a midfielder than a 9 .. he’s neither obv but he’s more peak Paul Gascoigne plus work rate than firmino or dembele. You’d never play him without fowards in front of him to feed

@nickwealthall @DistanceCovered I don’t think anyone thought it’d suit Dembele, Firmino or Messi either. Until it did. And I don’t think Josh would throw it out there without it being well thought out, tend to trust his analysis.

@MouglasDark @DistanceCovered attacking mid template vs forwards template - can’t work out if this is willfully disingenuous or if you don’t understand what you’re posting ?
