This is great burnet blooming in the 1000 year old Hinksey Meadow on the edge of Oxford. Only 1200 hectares remains of this habitat in the UK, less than the size of Heathrow Airport. Compare this with Chalk Grasslands, which are also rare but have around 40,000 hectares left.

Global oil companies are reporting 2022 as their most profitable year in history. Meanwhile, the planet continues to burn as household budgets shrink. We must change course. The only credible direction to take is away from fossil fuels & towards renewable energy.

This breaks my heart.
