L’adjudant-chef Arnaud Frion du 7ème bataillon de chasseurs alpins de Varces est mort pour la France lors d’une attaque dans la région d’Erbil en Irak. À sa famille, à ses frères d’armes, je veux dire toute l’affection et la solidarité de la Nation. Plusieurs de nos militaires ont été blessés. La France se tient à leurs côtés et avec leurs proches. Cette attaque contre nos forces engagées dans la lutte contre Daech depuis 2015 est inacceptable. Leur présence en Irak s’inscrit dans le strict cadre de la lutte contre le terrorisme. La guerre en Iran ne saurait justifier de telles attaques.

@tszzl people who should know better. What works well, is natural, does not require any artificial postulate addition, is many worlds, and it should be called “unified wave” to avoid some confusion. It’s also experimentally supported since 2020 and 2021

Maybe #NeurIPS2023 will go down as the high watermark for LLM hype. There are already signs of a turnaround (including that outstanding paper award for questioning the mythos of emergent abilities.) Even at FMDM, the poster wkshp of cheer, my students said they had quite a welcoming reception for their work questioning the LLM self-verification abilities.. 🤞 [Lest there be any misunderstanding, I am betting that LLMs will continue to be great idea generators that will work well in LLM-Modulo settings with external verifiers or humans in the loop. IMO this is an excellent example of the wordcel failure pattern > You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war. That sounds nice and rhetorically punchy, but it's just nonsense. It exists in a land of word patterns, but has no structural relationship to reality.
