@violent_rhino Hmm, not sure! Hope you are able to reach them for support and get it up and running on your frame

@MetageistVR yes, but - "robot voices" are mostly used as a trope to signal to the viewer that the speaker isn't really human. it's probably time for another trope to emerge now that AI voices are getting so good IRL that sci-fi robo-voices will sound cheesier than ever
English

One thing sci-fi movies got very wrong about robots was their robotic monotone voices. The incoming humanoids won’t just be dynamic and entirely human sounding they’ll be able to spontaneously sing beautifully in any voice, picking from an infinite number of different potential personalities and characters.

@brian_armstrong @coinbase isn’t vetting tokens part of the value-add of a CEX like coinbase?
English

We need to rethink our listing process at @coinbase given there are ~1m tokens a week being created now, and growing. High quality problem to have, but evaluating each one by one is no longer feasible. And regulators need to understand that applying for approval for each one is totally infeasible at this point as well (they can't do 1m a week). It needs to move from a an allow list to a block list, and utilize customer reviews/automated scans of onchain data etc to help customers sift through.
That and we'll continue integrating native DEX support more deeply. Customers shouldn't need to know or care whether the trade is happening on a DEX or CEX.

That fight that @3lau has fought has never been an easy one. It’s never been about what’s popular but about what’s right. In fact, Justin has consistently been an advocate for artists and technologists, specifically when no one else has been willing. He has taken the laughs and ostracization on the chin because it gave cover to other artists and technologists to play and build. For that, we all owe him our thanks and gratitude.
In 2017 Justin was one of the first to create excitement and legitimacy around ETH and NFTs. I watched as those in trad music and finance made fun of him. And yet, did any of them apologize when he was proved right about crypto? Did any of them give him any credit when they used the space he created for their financial gain?
Of course not.
I am disgusted by the hate Justin has received. I will always stand by him as a friend, but more importantly, as a champion of innovators, creatives, and a fighter of the music industry mafia.

The risk of politician coins comes from the fact that they are such a perfect bribery vehicle. If a politician issues a coin, you do not even need to send *them* any coins to give them money. Instead, you just buy and hold the coin, and this increases the value of their holdings passively.
Furthermore, there is deniability: holding the coin is, in terms of financial effect, a linear combination of donating to the issuer and gambling. Hence you can have the intention of doing the former but when challenged claim that you are doing the latter.
You can even hold the coin privately, and show that you are holding it to whoever you need to show; you do not need any zero knowledge proofs, you just send a test transaction.
This is all risky to democracy, for reasons very similar to what I wrote in vitalik.eth.limo/general/2021/0… , vitalik.eth.limo/general/2020/0… and elsewhere. TLDR: the economic arguments for why markets are so great for "regular" goods and services do not extend to "markets for political influence".
I recommend politicians do not go down this path.

"Now is the time to talk about the fact that large-scale political coins cross a further line: they are not just sources of fun, whose harm is at most contained to mistakes made by voluntary participants, they are vehicles for unlimited political bribery, including from foreign nation states."

@ledgerdust We’ll have other grifts to be griping about by then
But it’s still an insanely massive haul, even for him
English

@niftyist I think everyone will forget he grifted 2+ Billion within 6 months
English

@PixelHustler Well I certainly saw some doubt from people who bought into it on Sunday and Monday. Maybe it will be the approval rating of the crypto-aware segment of his base

@xBenJamminx @mkraju …is a sentence you say today, of all days, in the wake of $TRUMP? 🤔

President Biden issues pre-emptive pardons.
“That is why I am exercising my authority under the Constitution to pardon General Mark A. Milley, Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the Members of Congress and staff who served on the Select Committee, and the U.S. Capitol and D.C. Metropolitan police officers who testified before the Select Committee. The issuance of these pardons should not be mistaken as an acknowledgment that any individual engaged in any wrongdoing, nor should acceptance be misconstrued as an admission of guilt for any offense. Our nation owes these public servants a debt of gratitude for their tireless commitment to our country.”
