@visitnorthyork My wife Lisa who died 15 years ago this year aged 43. We just got our first grandchild - Our kids are both beautiful, happy young adults - I just want to sit there and hug her and see her smile and hear her laugh and get her advice and tell her I love and miss her so much 🙏❤️

I hope you can picture how large was my grin as I stood here in the quiet dawn and watched these ladies walk determinedly, solemnly, across their field. They were cheered on by a couple of skylarks high above, and the light spilling over those layers of hills was perfect, soft and golden. For those few moments, in this little patch of England, all felt well with the world. 📍 Peak District, England

This was, without doubt, one of the most beautiful mornings I've ever had the privilege to witness. The hills and fields shone with a soft, golden, misty light, and the birdsong echoed along the lanes. At one point I paused on my walk to admire a particularly lovely tree, as I often do, and a little roe deer strolled into the frame and stood in the perfect spot under the boughs. I'm pretty sure she was captivated by how beautiful the world was at that moment too. We exchanged a glance, I whispered "Thank you", and then we both went about our days, with me feeling about as lucky as it's possible to feel. 📍 Peak District, England

💚 Happy 75th birthday to the Peak District National Park! On 17 April 1951, these 555 square miles in the heart of England were officially designated as the UK’s first ever national park. The park was intended to provide a space where those living in the nearby cities could find fresh air, beauty and a connection with nature, and it still fulfils that purpose perfectly today. 🍃 The Peak District is not a twee rural museum but a working landscape, home to 38,000 people, and now visited by around 13 million every year. On this special anniversary I hope everyone who visits stops for a minute, looks about themselves and realises what a precious place this is, and seeks to protect it for all those who may follow in the future, for the next 75 years and far beyond. 📍 Peak District, England ©️Peaklass

@peaklass1 Perfect timing 💫 I’m going to buy this for my Lithuanian friend as a gift to celebrate her 10 years of sobriety this week and get it brought to Spain to give to her. She can see and share what you bring to us all and she loves a book. Thank you 🙏💫🌳

As the world around us grows ever more frightening and loud and frankly bonkers, I find it hugely reassuring to watch how Nature carries on regardless. Paying no heed to our politics and crises, she breezes through the lanes. As the daffodils fade, the dandelions bloom. The hawthorn hedges are green again and the chiff-chaffs have returned. No matter what happens in Westminster or Washington, soon the bluebells will brighten the woods, the swallows will fly in, and the oak leaves will unfurl. Out here, all is as it should be. 📍 Peak District, England

Standing here in Padley Gorge, serenaded by wrens, I watched the endless bubble of Burbage Brook as it frothed over the mossy rocks and under the narrow bridges. I lingered for as long as I possibly could, just like the fog that wrapped itself around the trees, until the spell broke and I had to continue with my day. 📍 Padley Gorge, Peak District, England © Peaklass, all real, no AI

When the days feel that they can't get any colder and darker and greyer, the first snowdrops appear, pushing their brave, bright shoots out of the hard earth and into the sun. They're more than flowers, they're little spikes of hope, shining out from under the trees and along the verges to say, it's all OK, it's all going to plan, hang in there. 📍 Peak District, England © Peaklass, all real, no AI

The quiet beauty of a Peak District morning, the sun just breaking through the mist in the valley and briefly turning the horizon a wonderfully warm orange. Something about this little scene really captivated me - the arching branches over the gate, the delicate filigree twigs of the tree, and that fabulous sky shining through it all. There are so many treasures waiting for us everywhere if we just take the time to notice. 📍 Peak District, England

I had previously given up alcohol for a little over 6 months but started drinking again when I went away with my mates in March. I recently got back on the wagon and passed 1 month without alcohol today. Just wanted to share it as I’m proud of myself. Cheers. ❤️
