💥President of Romania Nicusor Dan tries really hard to justify the canceling of presidential election in Romania with the most ilogical arguments, thinking the rest of the people are dumb enough to believe him. I will dismantle each and every one of his arguments in this post so the entire world can see:
🔴1. Nicusor Dan: "TikTok itself has admitted in multiple public reports that it proactively identified several hidden influence networks, prevented and removed tens of thousands of fake accounts and interactions, and banned hundreds of accounts impersonating presidential candidates."
✅TikTok like every other social media platform bans thousands of users every hour every day, they released this so that people have a clue that they are banning bots and spammers at all times, u know like they did when Nicusor Dan participated in elections afterwards. No one in Romania was fooled by someone impersonating a presidential candidate when that user had 100 followers so thats not even worth debating.
🔴2. Nicusor Dan: "the decision to annul the elections was an internal legal act aimed at protecting the constitutional order in the face of an asymmetric threat. It was based on assessments by Romania’s national security institutions and on the authority of the Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR)."
✅The decision to annul de elections was made by judges that aren't even judges because the members of CCR are people(ex politicians) put in power by the current government power. The national security institutions at no point have said that there was imminent threat, they just passed to the president in charge at that moment informative notes to understand how the social media landscape works.
🔴3. Nicusor Dan: "The CCR’s decision was grounded in documents that clearly and unequivocally showed the distortion of equal opportunities between candidates and the massive vitiation of the electoral campaign by a single candidate through the non-transparent and illegal use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, as well as through undeclared campaign financing, including in the online environment."
✅ None of those documents purpose was to show that candidates did not have equal oportunities. The main candidates at that point Ciolacu, Lasconi, Ciuca, Simion had more exposure on all tv channels, radio, written press, facebook, influencers, instagram and paid advertisement with pannels in cities or TV. The only place Calin Georgescu was number 1 it was tiktok because the algorithm favours engagement and catchy content rather than boring politicians that dont say anything. The combined exposure of any of the other candidates in other media was way bigger than what Calin Georgescu had on tiktok. Moreover he was actively denied entry to the presidential debates(apart from one low audience one at TVR), talk shows, interviews on any news media. And the bomb: if other candidates were denied of equal oportunities why in the next presidential elections Ciolacu, Ciuca, Geoana stopped participating and got replaced with others :).
🔴 4. Nicusor Dan: "illegal use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, as well as through undeclared campaign financing, including in the online environment."
✅ No amount of money spent on campaign financing was every linked to Calin Georgescu in any documents ever, no transfers nothing. The only money found out was a random tiktoker Bogdan Peschir that was giving points gifts to hot streamers girls on tiktok similar to twitch for the last 2 years for attention and dating and for some charity causes, that total amount was 300 000$ of which 60% is kept by tiktok so roughly 140 000$ of which most of them went to hot girls that voted actually for the other candidates as proven by their tiktok videos and stories. This guy was just a random romanian voter that happened to like Calin Georgescu videos and talked about him with other people in chats lol, it was even proven from his chats he had no direct contact with Calin Georgescu because he tried to write to him in chat and got not much answer.
✅ If u cant link someones campaign financing to a candidate through direct connection u cannot cancel elections because than any person in the entire world can make donations towards a candidate and cancel entire elections, which creates a huge security breach for any democracy including NATO.
🔴 5. Nicusor Dan: "Interference by the Russian Federation in electoral processes in European countries, including Romania, has also been highlighted in official reports by NATO, the European Union, and the Government of the United Kingdom."
✅ It was highlighted based on quotations of Romania national security agencies which were informal notes without any proof, so nothing new was highlighted, stop trying to justify it with random press releases that quoted the same Romanian national security agencies without extra information!
✅And now the bomb, in the middle of the presidential elections there was the parliamentary elections which is more important than presidential elections in Romania and guess what, they did not cancel those elections anymore, u know why? because the parties of Ciolacu, Lasconi, Ciuca got enough votes there to rule the country despite one party being supportive of Calin Georgescu and getting into the parliament with the ability to vote :)
🔴 6. Nicusor Dan: "Romania is a strong democracy in which decisions taken by responsible institutions in accordance with the Constitution and the laws in force must be respected."
✅Romania was downgraded to a hybrid regime in the 2024 democracy index published by the economist intelligent unit after canceling the elections right next to Papua New Guinea.
🔴 7. Nicusor Dan: "Romania’s commitment to the rule of law, transparency, freedom of expression, and the integrity of electoral processes remains unwavering — as does our commitment to all our strategic allies and partners."
✅ You are talking about transparency yet u refuse to publicize the disclosure of the CSA and CCR meetings that decided the elections canceling, let's see what was discussed there and based on what information the elections were canceled.
✅ Many journalists criticizing the anulment of the elections were banned and censored from social media platforms, so the freedom of expression was not much freedom was it? This is a known fact everywhere by banning of renown romanian journalists @MariusTuca_ro and @IonCristoiu and many other people that no one knows about.
✅ You talk about integrity of electoral process yet the elections were canceled after the decision of 70 yr old judges with political interests that have 0 expertize in social media, public exposure ratings, social media algorythm or marketing without consulting a single expert in the field or the parties involved.
❗️This entire election canceling was just a massive campaign success punishment, someone had more charisma, said things that appealed to a lot of people and refused to spend government money on usless election advertisement and instead just posted himself and his team of voluntiers clips where he talks about his vision of Romania, clips that had big engagement and thousands of romanians reposted and talked about, u know why? because tiktok algorythm promotes hype content that has good engagement regardless of ur number of followers, but i dont expekt a bunch of 70 yr olds candidates that didnt even know what tiktok is to know this. Dont worry in the next round of elections they banned Calin Georgescu and they themselves started spamming tiktok clips :) .
❗️❗️If u knew how algorythm works u would know that using bots or people outside of the country where content is posted or accounts that use vpn actually downgrade ur reach massively but hey u knew this when u participated because u complained that someone uses bots to inflate ur views and downgrade ur reach.
