PA logic: By having knowledge that is less broad and less in depth than a doctor... it allows them to switch more easily into different specialties. Can anyone genuinely explain this to me?

The new @RCSnews Code of Conduct is a powerful tool towards the changes needed in #surgery It is years in the making. Years. It serves notice on all those who think their power, their privilege or their position protects them. If you’re toxic, you’re out. #MedTwitter

@Xeon4f145d96s1 Disappointing. Most doctors rely on other income streams/family/savings from other routes to be able to do nice things. This was a poorly thought out snap judgement sadly…

@DrNeenaJha @gold103x Badges with job titles won’t solve the more broad issue of role confusion unless role titles are crystal clear. “Advanced practitioner” “Clinical practitioner” “Clinical specialist” “Surgical care practitioner” “Highly specialised X scientist” None of these mean anything.

I don’t agree that PAs should wear a badge stating “I am not a doctor” However, I do think EVERYONE in healthcare should wear a name badge with their job role/title clearly marked For both patient & staff safety PA need to revert back to the title “Physician Assistant” as was originally intended & what they’re trained for. “Physician Associate” title is deliberately misleading & has shown to be very confusing for patients.

@agemjourney How can we expect anyone to want to be a surgeon when it comes to career decisions if we don’t involve them in the best parts of the job? Another sad example of no thought for the next gen of doctors who MIGHT want to do surgery, and pulling up the ladder for those who already do

ngl already slightly bitter looking at my FY1 Surgery rota and seeing that PAs have protected theatre, clinic & teaching time written into their rotas and FY1 Doctors don't.. #medtwitter 😬🫠
