@nikitatks People in general struggle with middle ground politics tbh They often just pick opposite of extremes they see as bad as a reference to "less evil" or "welp not affecting me" It's silly and is done by very famous people asw who can't grasp the complex situations

No, but seriously. I am so sick of people in this region who have this utter disregard for human life that isn’t Palestinian life and those who walk around believing that only our countries suffer or that the West only treats and sees our lives as though they dont matter. Absurd.

The MENA’s views on Russia are + always have been absolute garbage. It has made an embarrassments of this region… but what’s worse, are those from the MENA who unironically make posts like this. Says so much ab the wilful ignorance + chronic victimhood this region suffers from.

@LucBernard Literally every word of this. It’s a goddamn tragedy that the insufferable ignorance and behaviour of their loudest online “supporters” has, as a result of this, degraded and completely rotted the Palestinian cause in a way I don’t think it can repair from. It’s so disgusting.

In the 2020's Russia / Ukraine is the highest number of deaths followed by the Ethiopian civil conflict. The worst thing I see online is whenever someone posts about something happening bad to someone the replies are flooded with "what about Gaza". Which does 0 to help Palestinians, just divides people. It's not something that happens with Ukraine, Gaza has turned into a money making operation for many (Bassem Youssef and others) but also for others to bully random people on the internet. I can speak that within DC, there are people actually doing real work to help Palestinians, but they aren't online yelling at everyone or making themselves rich by going on podcasts. Even within my industry, while I spent 10's of thousands of dollars of my own cash to get Gazans out of Gaza in 2023 and 2024 I couldn't get the loudest "Pro Palestinian" voices to help with a cent. This sounds harsh but I believe too much of the voices online are grifters or doing it for social status.

@TheBigPharaoh The economic sanctions brought down the Assad regime because he could no longer afford to pay his soldiers. Using Syria as a model to oppose sanctions is fundamentally flawed because it is one of the few examples of sanctions policy actually working without any other measures.

Sanctions Hurt Economies, Not Dictators There is still too much emphasis in the West on the idea that authoritarian regimes somehow bend under economic pressure. They generally don't. Saddam Hussein became enormously wealthy under sanctions. Bashar al-Assad and those around him also accumulated significant wealth despite years of sanctions. The Iranian regime has likewise shown remarkable resilience. Economic pressure alone is unlikely to make such regimes change course because they are far less susceptible to public pressure than many assume. The reason is simple: if large-scale protests threaten their grip on power, they kill their own people.

It’s such a disingenuous, flawed misreading of reality. Anyone who genuinely knows anything about what’s going on right now in Ukraine can only laugh at this. I have always hated this mentality that exists in the MENA and it’s a cancer people refuse to confront. Utterly pathetic.

It really cannot be understated how bad this makes them look + the funniest part is they lack the necessary self awareness to even be able to see it. There isn’t a more cancerous group of people than the pro-Axis crowd. It’s tragic. Palestinians have the absolute worst advocates.

No, you don’t have to support or like a countries government to be consistent abt this, especially if the aggression of militarily stronger neighbour is a genuine concern of yours, as this crowd like to claim it is. You do, however, lose all credibility when you pick and choose.
Nikita || 🇨🇾🇸🇾 (my other account was hacked🙃)@nikitatks

Hilarious that anyone with eyes sees how hostile Israel is to Syria, yet it’s the crowd of pro-Axis freaks who are so desperate to pretend otherwise, that their supposed ‘concerns' over Israel’s aggression just… vanish into thin air. They discredit themselves all on their own.

They speak as if the listing of countries on terrorism list and their removal is dictated by non-political criteria. You have to understand that Cuba is listed while regimes of Al-Qa`idah in Syria, Qadhdhafi, Omar Bashir and others were removed and for reasons dictated by Israel.
