@soorajchandran_ Read Art of Spending book - it gives a different perspective on spending money
English

I've never had to be taught how to save money. If anything, I've always saved too much. It’s probably the result of seeing my parents struggle financially.
I’ve had to do a lot of self-training and reflection to learn how to spend money. I still do. I still need to tell myself that I can afford things, and that it’s okay to buy something expensive without spending a month overthinking it.

@ChanderBhatia01 Would love to catch-up next time whenever you are in Barcelona.

I am in an European country for 8-9 days whose population is less than one crore and the infrastructure is world class.
If the same standard of infrastructure is to be built in India, it will take trillions of dollars and at least 30 years.
The dream of a developed country by 2047 can’t be met without world-class infrastructure.

I turn 38 tomorrow
have an interview later in the day
the problem with birthday interviews is that your social battery is often dead by the time you have the discussion
ideally I'd have preferred a quieter day, but something tells me it's better to get it sorted at this time
I wish I had a list of 38 useful ideas to tell you from all these years of lived experience, but idk, today somehow I don't have a lot to say
except
maybe this:
in the recent years
I've realized
that I don't control my life
I can't take credit
for what I've achieved
and
I can't take blame
for my mistakes
both credit & blame tend to make my body & mind weaker for the game ahead
I am tired of carrying the baggage of either credit or blame
credit makes me fragile, creates pressure to do better, makes me afraid of failure, and thus making me more anxious
blame eats my self-love, making me doubt whether I deserve good outcomes, making me afriad of success, and thus making me more anxious
either of them
make me anxious
and are thus unhelpful
that's all I know for now
that I am merely an instrument
that I am meant to flow forward like a river, without any baggage

@amuldotexe I had similar thought. Whether young or old, everyone on the metro is scrolling through reels. And I’m like Meta must be minting money right now 🥹

As someone who does not use Instagram for more than 5 minutes per week or does not watch youtube videos for more than 30 minutes a week
young folks, especially boys, I am surprised how you can be productive with such distracting imagery
we were teens in 2000s & what is exceptional images for us is your daily 1 hour reels
I do not envy you people, how do you focus with so much addictive content
text though addictive does not mess up my expectation of reality as much
in my mind instagram was just cringe dancing women of covid or showing off your vacation pics or wedding pics
but now you are seeing such refined content which is unsurprisingly going to affect your productivity on everything else
I now see why some of my IRL friends are instagram-zombies, they are watching reels all the time
I am a writing zombie when I do not vibe with a group, I am live tweeting or replying to random strangers
but video or such imagery can corrupt the mind
perhaps this boomer just discovered the true side of instagram, and honestly now I have more respect for young people doing well for themselves, you are doing it despite the distractions
kudos

@soorajchandran_ How’s your experience with the healthcare in NL ?

Interesting read about glucose spikes and how it affects our mental health, anxiety, relationships, skin, insomnia etc. and how to improve on glucose levels. #glucoserevolution

@Akshat_World Portugal meets all the above conditions. Language might be an issue but most of the people are proficient enough

What are some good, liveable countries/cities across the world:
- Low cost of living (in context to the infra)
- Good weather (at least 6 months a year)
- Good infrastructure
- Good for kids
- Comment below
I will personally go.
And, spend time in a few of these.
And, will share my experience.
So far: I have done this in Kuala Lumpur, Phuket, Singapore, Dubai, Tbilisi.
In India: I would highly recommend Goa for this. Having lived across multiple cities here.

Pre 10 am
almond croissant
in the past 2 decades, there's a bunch of flavours I have really relished
almonds x raisins
almonds x icecream
almonds x chocolate
best:
almonds ghee-roasted with salt
almond butter croissants might be one of the best dishes I've ever tasted, despite being a person who avoids wheat items
dunked in milk it reminds me of butter bread with milk of the 90s
as a late 30s person I often fear there's little time left, just in case, iykwim
and then I remind myself of moments like this, my ancestors would be just so proud of how much joy I have experienced in this privileged life
the taste I can immerse myself in & forget about the life's problems even for a few minutes
at this moment
I am just grateful for this beautiful experience which was hitherto undreamt of for our ancestors
we have come far
and while
things aren't perfect
such moments do help you focus on what's good & worthy of our attention
This
right here
what I have
is enough ...

@outofofficedaku But to get the PR approved it takes 3 years minimum from the time it’s applied. Portugal process is very slow and the housing prices have drastically increased.
