I almost fell for my first scam client today. Who asks for a Shopify store to try to scam a developer?

@FullHarbor Awesome transparency. I'm relatively new on my freelance journey but I've learned that since seasons are slower than others.

Transparency time 💰 Total freelance income so far this year: $53,500 1/4 of the way to $200k, but 1/2 through the year! While technically behind, I've take 3 of the 6 months off of freelance to work on the +$25k program. Still aiming for $200k by the end of the year.

@nikksterDotTech @FullHarbor lol it always is! One suggestion, create 2 different SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for when clients ask about your services. A/B test them for the next 9-12 inquiries or the next 3-6 months. This will allow you to see what's working and what isn't. (:

@theDesignBreak @FullHarbor Amazing! I'm still figuring out my exact plan for when clients ask for my services (it's been a little rocky far) but once I am more comfortable I plan to do this. Keep us posted on how it works for you!

@nikksterDotTech @FullHarbor I've tried it a couple of times—mostly with inbound leads, and at least with my small sample size, it had a 75% success rate! In Q3/4, I'm planning on ramping up outreach, and this is one of the tactics I'm going to experiment with.

@FullHarbor If you’re doing cold outreach to existing brands/startups, record a 5 minute Loom introducing yourself and how you could bring them value.

Tech newbies, if you find an unpaid internship in a company with a good and supporting work culture, please take it. It's a win because you'll gain experience. You have no idea how difficult it is to land a new role at the moment and folks aren't even talking about it enough...

I've earned more than $13,000/month for the last 3 years just by writing short sales emails. 4 things I wish I did earlier: - find a community of other writers - join a group of ambitious biz owners - stop being afraid of feedback - work with a mentor I hope this helps
