It's been 4 weeks since having to take a week basically completely off, and I'm still not running 100% pain free :(

do people actually see me differently to a normal person just because i have a few followers? sometimes i’m rude to someone who follows me because they said something dumb and they continue to like my tweets. like girl, stand up, i would have unfollowed if someone did that to me

Things that make the calf worse: Back to back long runs Running after a night of poor sleep Hard efforts (I can run hard, but it stiffens the calf up). My 9 hour retail shifts. Things that improve calf: Running easy Good sleep Plenty of stretching post run Good sleep

Nation of people who are taking pineapple (notoriously sweet fruit), and soaking them in Gatorade (notoriously sweet drinks), and adding sugar to this (I don't even have to say it) I'll take criticisms from Spain, the middle east, France and Japan, but not America.

I think British people actually enjoy eating bad food; it's some kind of performative modesty thing, like good food would be extravagant, and also they take pride in the grit required to get it down

@Predamame My 6am run commute is the least cortisol inducing part of my day - 9 hours in retail is what does the damage.

@SteAssent Always a good decision to listen to your body. Uphills are brutal, and there's no point wrecking yourself. Fair play, and heal up soon man :)

Although my hip is feeling better I'm taking the decision not to run coniston marathon this weekend. It's feeling okay with speed work but uphill instantly triggers it again and 3100ft probably isn't smart. Stupid old body

I see more runners on the street, of all speeds, wearing coros more than any other brand. Impressive takeover by them over Garmin.

@cezthesocialist I too use an entire bottle of ketchup, an entire block of cheese, and an entire bag of burger buns for one burger.

Track session complete. Calf is coping well, and ngl I'm kinda happy with how consistently paced those intervals were overall. Pacing is its own skill, and it's pretty damn important!

Happy Global Running Day. The biggest thing running has ever taught me is how to be accountable to myself. Nobody determines your success (or failure) in the sport as much as you do. Just as in life...

From running 10 back to back marathons, to running a 100 mile race around a 1 mile loop, this man is an inspiration through and through!

I don't have a ton of experience racing, but I've penned a few more into the diary for this year. I just really need to get the calf settled down fully. I.e. no more back to back long runs (even on my back to back days off) Recovery is just as important as the actual training.
