i figured it'd be fun to do a lil time lapse of reworking the posthog about page. so here's a bit of me moving some words and shapes around, and then writing come code.

@cjc @marckohlbrugge @linear same thing happened with heap dot com. the lengths to which we went to get that domain, yet they refused. and it remains dormant to this day. I genuinely don't get it.

i often wonder if anyone at Instagram has ever tried to create a multi-photo post from an Android device. the experience makes me want to pummel the PM responsible for this decision to the point i would be willing to accept prison charges. it is entirely impossible to assemble a curated post in a Google Photos album, then post it. the problem is that everything is based on the filesystem, so unless your photos were modified in a sequential order, there’s no way to curate a post without a ton of work. whenever i want to create a post, it typically involves me: 1. creating a Google Photos album on my phone 2. downloading a zip of the album on my computer 3. (if > 10 photos, downloading to my phone) it is entirely impossible to take a curated selection of photos on an Android phone and post them to Instagram. it blows my mind that Instagram has thrived in spite of the friction to doing the most basic of tasks. i will fully admit maybe i’m not the ICP but my gosh, it shouldn’t be this hard.

my 5 year old daughter just expects every soap dispenser to dispense automatically. I'm conflicted if I should be more concerned about her expectation, or if I should try to turn this into a thought piece about how we should think about designing for Gen {whatever she is}.

Customer Analytics: build towards product-market fit and understand your customers' demographics without the need to build dashboards from scratch, because that sucks. Another case of no graphic, but you'll survive.

@ninepixelgrid I switched from Plat to Gold earlier this year. With my wife on my account it would have been a 4 figure annual fee this year. Gold offers better benefits for everyday life with their points on groceries IMHO.

Amex Platinum Card was tired years ago. i don't disagree with the sentiment, but also card loyalty is over with. i currently have an Amex Gold (after years of protesting the Platinum annual fee, to my advantage). the biggest problem is: perks have become too accessible, and therefore worth absolutely nothing.

@leerob @LouisLsvr you can't just call yourself a frontier model to be a frontier model. i'm a big Cursor fan, but just making outlandish claims and then every time i try to use it for basic thing and get underwhelming results makes me less convinced anything you say is true.

okay my feed is filled with "OMG Composer 2.5 > Claude!!" let me just tell you... if it can't figure out the basics of Tailwind, it ain't getting my vote. don't get me wrong, would love to not depend on Claude, but i have yet to be convinced.
