Once a MLA told me that once he became MLA, everyday someone or the other like the water mafia,tender seeker etc will come and try giving money. He said it took almost 2 to 3 months of active rejections to just ensure none of the benefit seekers come to offer him. A MLA who wants to be honest needs to work really hard to just stop people from bringing bribes to him. Every MLA is expected to do this. But will there be atleast a few first time MLAs who will walk this path ?

Tamil Nadu may be the least bigoted state in India. A political party leader, Vijay, a Christian, was seen holding the image of Jesus Christ in his rally in a state where 87% of the population is Hindu. The Christian population stands at only 6.12%, and his party got elected with a resounding majority.

We were supposed to reach Munnar by 4 pm but arrived around 1:30 a.m. We almost ran out of fuel, there was no network in the national park, and our family was worried about us. As girls, we struggled to find a washroom for 8-10 hours. We all say that India is not using the full potential of its tourism, but do we have that kind of infrastructure? One long weekend and every tourist place gets packed.
