A formal petition was submitted to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu regarding building regulations for smaller churches. The petition was submitted by Bro. Jebasingh who is the General Secretary of the Church Workers Welfare Trade Union. Currently, constructing religious buildings requires strict DTCP approval, which can involve complex bureaucratic hurdles for smaller structures. The petition requests the Government of Tamil Nadu to issue an official Government Order to Exempt churches being built on plots under 2,500 square feet from mandatory DTCP approval. Allow these smaller churches to be constructed using a simpler clearance process, specifically requiring only a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the District Collector and building approval from the local body. What a genuine request!?!?
