@Mahesh10816 Did the people in any of the villages start taking the responsibility for their own good? Or did they keep expecting you & your team to keep doing it?

30 years ago, I went to a village in the outskirts of Salem, while washing my hand in a public tap , I found worms in the water, then i came to know that people in that village used this water for drinking and cooking. When I climbed the tank I saw a cesspool inside. Dead cats, crows, slippers, bottles etc. the tank had no lid. It was a 30000 ltr over head drinking water tank. There were 3 other tanks in the same village, each was worse than the other. Spoke to the village president, he expressed his helplessness. Then I approached the BDO ( Block development officer) he said every panchayat gets funds it's upto them to do the cleaning , everyone in the bureaucracy was driving me from pillar to post just to clean the tank in public interest People of course were expecting others to do the cleaning. So as a trial I got permission from the village president to clean the tank , i employed few boys to do the job. These water tanks were not cleaned for many many years before that. While cleaning 🧹 we removed one feet thick of black sediments from each tank. Then we gave a coat of white cement inside, and put a lid where it was missing. The response from the people was overwhelming, the word spread and village after village invited us to get the water tanks cleaned. In each tank we painted the last cleaned date, this became a trend, every three months I sent my boys to clean the tanks. At one stage we were serving over 150 villages in Salem district, we did this service for 12 years and ensured every village got clean potable drinking water If serving people is politics so be it

@chandrats06 @bhaumikgowande Are the major developers & construction companies in Bangalore, people who have constructed most of what we see as Bangalore now, owned by so called "North Indian fucjers", as you so poetically call them? Bangalore is in the shape it is today in because of unplanned development.

South Delhi will always outmog every district in India because urban luxury is not just malls or real estate prices, it is tree cover, shaded streets, wide roads, walkability and transit access. Walked nearly 10 km today from Hauz Khas to Vasant Kunj post leg day via Qutub Institutional Area and you can literally feel the temperature drop under the tree canopy. Cool breeze, shaded corridors and surprisingly continuous sidewalks across most stretches except parts of Katwaria Sarai & Masoodpur urban villages. Delhi’s ridge and green cover reduce local surface temperatures by 2-5°C in several pockets. This is exactly why Indian cities need aggressive urban afforestation and shaded pedestrian infra to fight the urban heat island effect in a tropical climate. Its simple, More trees = cooler cities, lower artificial ventilation demand, healthier walking environments and better public transit usage.

@chandrats06 @bhaumikgowande Who did this development? Who allowed this to take place? Who benefitted from that? The easiest option is to blame every ill that plagues Bangalore or Mysore to outsiders, specially North Indians. The difficult option is to look at yourselves in the mirror & see that you have

@IndiGo6E Hello Indigo! Are wheelchair bound passengers expected to get priority in boarding, in your scheme of things? Here is a wheelchair bound passenger on 6E6798 being made to wait while boarding of Zone 1 & 2 is being done. Your staff confirms that the policy exists. 1/n

@IndiGo6E In fact she just shrugged & carried on with the boarding. This reflects extremely poorly on the professionalism, ability to foresee requirements, planning ability & interest in rendering good customer care of Indigo Airlines as a whole & the concerned staff at Pune in particular.

@IndiGo6E This is happening on 25 May 2026 at Pune. The flight has already been delayed. Your boarding manager Komal, had no idea how many wheelchair bound passengers she had to board & hence had not planned for the required number of attendants. When asked, she had nothing to say.

@Uber_India Hello! Why are your drivers asking for more than what is shown in the app? I reserved a trip 2 Pune Airport. The nominated driver called me & told me I'll have to pay Rs 50 extra, over & above the final charge shown by the app. When I refused, he canceled the trip.

@Tara_Deshpande Cantonments are not on leased lands. Don't equate a Cantonment with a club like the Delhi Gymkhana. Cantonments are located on land owned by the government of India.

illegal. Doesn’t DG pay staggering amounts of property tax on the built up structures on this 23 acres to New Delhi? Thousands of clubs, state owned, cantonments, legacy institutions all over this country function in a similar way on perpetual leases or 99 year tenures. The acclaimed architect Robert Russell who designed DG also designed Pataudi Palace, Teen Murti Bhavan and much more. The original approx 100 year clubhouse only occupies 1.23 acres on this property. Surely a way could be found to save this structure with limited space around it for an institution as old as the DG. Wiping out history is something even the Chinese government finds difficult to do. They tried taking down old Shanghai and met with huge public disapproval. Why not find a compromise? There was a time when Indians were not permitted in these white only clubs, now we own them. Isn’t that something worth remembering even if you whittle down privileges.

I see your point but it is a complex matter. Please correct me if I am wrong but at Delhi Gymkhana isn’t 80% of its permanent membership reserved for government officials. 2240 members are Defence personnel and 2240 are bureaucrats? Aren’t a significant number of ministers or former ministers. Was Manmohan Singh a member, Sheila Dixit, Arun Jaitley. Isn’t Rahul Gandhi a member? I would not be surprised if this is a hub for old world Congress party members and ministers. Close to 600 workers- waiters, gardeners, cooks some who have worked at DG for 35 years stand to lose their livelihoods. Nothing to rejoice here. While the rent is wholly inadequate it is not🧵

Near my house, there is a Dry Cleaner who presses 350 clothes daily at a rate of ₹10 each. Total Daily Earning = ₹3,500. He also dry cleans 20 clothes daily at a rate of ₹250 each. Total Daily Earning = ₹5,000. Which means daily ₹8,500 × 31 days, Monthly ₹2,55,000 can be easily earned. After all expenses and staff salaries, ₹2 lakh is comfortably saved. This is something that even people in a corporate job or with a big degree can earn excellently. It also challenges the common thinking that only 'White Collar' or Tech Jobs give good money.

In Bengal's Rajarhat New Town, the BJP won because of a special round of counting held the next day without any TMC agents present. @sighyush investigated what exactly was counted in that special round. He found it was an 88% Muslim booth in an area called Musalman Para. If the EC is to be believed, the BJP got an astonishing >94% of the Muslim votes in this booth -- which allowed them to win the seat. scroll.in/article/109298…

Who fired the tomahawk missile at the school in Minab? @Stone_SkyNews asked the US Admiral in charge of the war. It's after Sky News reported from the Iranian city where more than 150 people, including 120 children, were killed in a strike on the first day of the war.
