Haha 🤣 this is brilliant! All those grounds men around the country who in school said to their maths teachers- ‘sure what will I ever need the Pythagoras Theorem for?!’ I hope you were all listening!! 👂 ⚽️

Carlow goalie made good use of the new rule today where he can tap the ball off the tee from a kickout and soccer style it out without picking it up. Had a quick chat with him at the end as he explained it works well when forwards are dragged wide and the space is there.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱𝘀 The Faithful Fields is our state of the art GAA Centre of Excellence, captured beautifully by videographer Mark Forde. Boasting four full-size, floodlit pitches equipped with WiFi for performance analysis, the facility ensures cutting-edge training for athletes. The main pitch features a scoreboard and an 800 person stand, while six modern dressing rooms cater to players needs. A state of the art gym with Astro turf, first aid and treatment rooms, and education rooms for 80 individuals add to the impressive infrastructure. A canteen seating 75, along with a preparation area, ensures hospitality is top notch. Beyond sports, the 1.1 kilometer walking track and 280-space car park highlight its community centered design. The Faithful Fields is a testament to Offaly’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering community engagement. This is where the hard training with our county teams and development squads is done. If you haven't seen it in person, have a look at this video. 🎥 @mark_forde95

As 2024 draws to a close work has already begun for projects in 2025. Here's a sneak peek of a drive to increase volunteerism in our clubs into the future. Let's 'Share our Volunteer Story' with everyone and ask others to write theirs for the coming playing season.

Score Beo@Score_Beo·
New Rules Passed✅ Enabling Motion✅ ℹ️Rules apply to both County + Club, not Third Level competitions. 1v1 throw-in✅ ℹ️1v1 throw-in to start each half, other midfielders on opposite sidelines. Kickouts✅ ℹ️Kickouts have to land outside the new 40m arc. Goalkeepers✅ ℹ️ Keepers can only receive a pass from a teammate in the opposing half of the field. 3/3 Structure✅ ℹ️Teams must have 3 outfield players in each half at all times. Advanced Mark✅ ℹ️Attacking marks can only be claimed inside the 20m line, forward gets an advantage to ‘go for goal.’ Scoring Arc & System✅ ℹ️2 points for a score outside new 40m arc from play and frees. Goals remain as 3 points, points inside arc worth 1. New orange flag for 2-pointers. Solo & Go✅ ℹ️A player who is fouled has the option of continuing play by taking a ‘solo and go’ rather than pausing to take a free. Delay Fouling✅ ℹ️Ball is advanced 50m (up to 13m line) for any foul which purposefully & deliberately delays play. Black Card✅ ℹ️Black card fouls now include other obvious examples of cynical fouling. 1Fouls✅ ℹ️Player fouled inside the arc can choose to bring the free outside the 40m arc to avail of a 2-pointer. ℹ️3rd or subsequent players into a melee will receive a black card. Advantage✅ ℹ️Allows referees to play a longer advantage if they believe it merits it. Dissent✅ ℹ️A show of dissent by challenging the referee’s decision results in the free already awarded being moved up 50m. Captains✅ ℹ️Team captains are the only players who can speak to the referee to seek clarification of a decision made by the ref. Clarification only allowed during a break in play. Pitch Markings✅ ℹ️New lines on all pitches to facilitate new rules: 40m arc required infront of each goal and a dashed line between the two 65s to indicate the middle of the field. Public Clock & Hooter✅ ℹ️Clock-hooter system for timekeeping & to signal the end of each half. Lines Umpires✅ ℹ️Allows officials running the line to immediately bring any instances of foul play to the referee. Crossing A Line✅ ℹ️Where a rule requires a player to be inside or outside a particular line, the player would be required to have both feet inside or outside the line.
