The immature dick measuring diplomacy aside. Most BRI projects employ Chinese nationals and are managed by Chinese companies. This has become a source of tension in many countries because it comes at the expense of employing local citizens who can benefit economically from funds and knowledge transfer flowing into their communities. When it comes to FDI into China, it has benefited over the last 3 decades from enacting policies that employ their citizens and encourage knowledge transfer. Why don’t they do the same when they invest into other countries?
