@realm33 @WHENESOTA Agree, I'm nocturnal too. If I want to watch Gopher Hockey, I know who to follow to tell me where and how. If I don't want to pay, that's on me...not the B1G or NCHC, etc.

@nitzp @WHENESOTA I'm a night owl, I loved those games. Again, I know I am in the minority. Just a few years ago games vs North Dakota couldn't be broadcasted in Minnesota because of North Dakota's Tv contract. That's amazing in this day.

@realm33 Even though they weren't on TV, or you had to see if it started at 10pm or 11pm? I didn't like having to wait til next day to see if game ended in time to have results in StarTrib. That's how old I am! 🙃

@WHENESOTA @realm33 Sure, that stinks. Fewer things in life are "free" or included in standard cable. What'd ya like about games in Colorado 8pm/9pm or Alaska 10pm/11pm...IF broadcasted at all? I get we all miss "free" TV and conference opponents, but that's life.

@realm33 My take, most people who want the WCHA back REALLY want a "modified" WCHA. Very few people miss, or are clamoring for CC, Alaska, NMU, MTU etc. They want No Dak, UMD, Kato, SCSU, Wisc (maybe Denver). The rest, people would largely ignore. Old WCHA had warts too.

@nitzp @WHENESOTA @GopherPuckLive I know that, but that's what spiraled this thing. Gophers being without St. cloud, UMD, North Dakota and Mankato ruined college hockey in the midwest. At least for me and a bunch of people I used to very closely follow and even play WCHA fantasy hockey. It was the best.

@realm33 @WHENESOTA That's not a B1G things, it's a sports broadcasting thing. No B1G Network, Amazon, Apple TV, YouTube streaming all paying big $$$. I know many of those aren't taking Gopher Hockey broadcasts, but it affects ALL sports. If you wanna watch, go to @GopherPuckLive for the 411.

@WHENESOTA 100% the worst move ever. Gopher hockey was my main interest at the time, now they are about 7th. I miss games every friday saturday on MSC, we knew when and where to watch all the games.

@DanMyers Many (if not most) coaching changes happen A year too early or A year too late Might be unfair but a year early is easier to "recover" from. If next season didn't live up to expectations, then it was a wasted year.

All kidding aside, this is a mistake IMO. Bob is an elite coach. Gophers had to completely rebuild that roster last offseason and in the Big Ten, with those programs? Pack a freaking lunch. He deserved at least another year to turn that around. He’s got the equity.

@FutureGophers Matt Cullen. The recruiting pipeline he would create would be the best in the nation. He was also a big part of Spuds success, as he is a great teacher of the game, and very respected.

@Mariucci_Guy Every coaching change runs the risk of losing current players or some of the incoming recruits. But, if you hire the right coach, he can retain much of what you got/want.

The biggest question I’ve seen circling on here is how does this affect the recruit pipeline and some current players. It’s a fair question. I think they should hold on to Ben Gordon as an assistant for continuity. He handles a lot of the recruiting.
