Anyone who has traveled in Third AC knows this struggle. The upper berth is so cramped that you can’t even sit properly . your neck stays bent the whole time. And you can’t just lie down for hours either. The moment you try to sit up, your neck refuses to straighten. It’s uncomfortable, frustrating, and something passengers deal with on almost every journey.

@DRMPalghat @drmsbc @SWRRLY @RailwaySeva Again, reiterating my question. Train 16511 is running late by an hour at MAQ since more than a month. What actions have you taken to fix this??

Public Request to Maintain Present Timing of Train No. 16511 KSR Bengaluru–Kozhikode Express We, the passengers and residents of Dakshina Kannada and surrounding regions, would like to place on record our sincere request regarding the proposed revision in the timing of Train No. 16511 KSR Bengaluru–Kozhikode Express, particularly the handover at Padil from the present 06:50 hrs to 07:10 hrs. This train has been serving as a lifeline for Dakshina Kannada, providing crucial overnight connectivity between coastal Karnataka and Bengaluru. A large number of passengers, including working professionals, students, and daily commuters, depend on its present schedule, which is well-aligned with passenger needs and has been functioning efficiently. It may kindly be noted that earlier, when the train was operating with a later arrival schedule (around 07:55 hrs at Mangaluru Central with Padil at 07:10 hrs), it caused considerable inconvenience to passengers. Based on public feedback, the timing was revised to the present schedule (Padil 06:50 hrs and Mangaluru Central 07:10 hrs), which has since been highly beneficial to the travelling public. We are concerned that the proposed delay in handover at Padil may lead to operational constraints in the Mangaluru Junction–Mangaluru Central section, particularly due to the movement of Train No. 12619 LTT–Mangaluru Matsyagandha Express, which runs behind and passes Mangaluru Junction around 07:15 hrs. This could result in detention of Train No. 16511 at Mangaluru Junction, eventually delaying its arrival at Mangaluru Central to around 08:00 hrs, thereby affecting a large number of passengers who rely on its current early arrival. We humbly submit that the recent punctuality concerns of this train may be due to operational factors such as changes in crossing arrangements of other services, and such issues may kindly be addressed through appropriate scheduling adjustments, rather than altering the timing of a well-functioning and passenger-friendly train. In view of the above, we earnestly request the concerned authorities to kindly maintain the present timing of Train No. 16511, especially the handover at Padil at 06:50 hrs, in the larger interest of the travelling public. We sincerely hope our request will receive due consideration. @SWRRLY @drmsbc @DrmMys @GMSRailway @DRMPalghat @CaptBrijesh @RailMinIndia @AshwiniVaishnaw @VSOMANNA_BJP

Wishing Comrade Pinarayi Vijayan, Vijayam. I wish the Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, all the very best for the upcoming election. Above all, I feel that the state, Keralam, is also ende Keralam. Even if some, in their exclusive mindset, attribute an outsider status to me, I remain emotionally attached to Keralam. Hence, I would urge the beneficiaries of that state (which includes me) to reflect on the past decade and wish him well. Let us make the right decision. Comrade Vijayan vijayikkatte. Dear BCCI/ICC, Either prepare pitches that offer something for bowlers, or push the boundary ropes further back. Matches where every mishit goes for six & bowlers have no chance are not good for the balance of cricket. #INDvENG #T20WC2026 #Bumrah @BCCI @ICC @Jaspritbumrah93

Never forget when Ajit Agarkar said Sanju Samson was playing only because Shubman Gill was not available… and then pushed him to the middle order after he scored 3 T20 hundreds for a mediocre batter like Gill. Come and apologize now @imAagarkar

Restore Bengaluru-Kannur Express to KSR Bengaluru — Passengers Cannot Be Ignored Anymore The continued operation of Train No. 16511/16512 KSR Bengaluru–Kannur Express from SMVT Bengaluru instead of KSR Bengaluru is causing serious and growing inconvenience to thousands of passengers from Coastal Karnataka and Bengaluru. What was initially presented as a temporary operational adjustment is now turning into a prolonged disruption, and passengers are increasingly worried that this change may quietly become permanent. For years, Bengaluru-Kannur Express served as one of the most dependable overnight trains between Coastal Karnataka and Bengaluru, primarily because of its central terminal at KSR Bengaluru (Majestic). The early morning arrival at KSR Bengaluru ensured seamless connectivity to the entire city through Metro (Green and Purple Lines), BMTC buses and KSRTC intercity services. This integration made the train extremely useful for employees, students, patients and daily travellers who depended on reliable morning connectivity. The shift to SMVT Bengaluru has significantly weakened this convenience. Unlike KSR Bengaluru, SMVT lacks true multi-modal integration. Even though Baiyappanahalli Metro station exists nearby, there is still no seamless pedestrian connectivity, forcing passengers to rely on autos or cabs with luggage. The approach roads are congested, last-mile travel is unpredictable and commute costs have increased sharply — especially for passengers travelling to South and West Bengaluru. Another major issue is arrival timing and city access. Earlier, passengers could reach the heart of Bengaluru by around 6:30 AM and plan their day efficiently. Now, the later arrival and peripheral terminal location mean delayed reporting times, missed connections and additional stress for working professionals and students. Because of this inconvenience, many passengers have started travelling to Yesvantpur Junction just to board or deboard the train, even though the train originates or terminates at SMVT. This itself proves that SMVT is not serving the passenger majority. However, Bengaluru traffic is unpredictable and many travellers now risk missing the train while trying to reach Yesvantpur through peak congestion. Passengers who strictly depend on KSR Bengaluru connectivity are now forced to rely on Train No. 16585/86 SMVT Bengaluru–Murudeshwar Express, as it still runs via KSR Bengaluru and offers better access to the city’s core. This forced dependency clearly shows how the terminal shift has disrupted established travel patterns and pushed passengers toward inconvenient alternatives. The operational background of this decision is also important. Earlier, the rake of Kannur Express was maintained at Yesvantpur Junction, not KSR Bengaluru. During yard rearrangements and ongoing works, rake-sharing patterns were modified. Train No. 16593/94 KSR Bengaluru–Nanded Express, whose rake was maintained at KSR Bengaluru, was shifted to Yesvantpur Junction instead of SMVT Bengaluru. To accommodate this adjustment, Kannur Express was moved to SMVT Bengaluru. In simple terms, an operational reshuffle resulted in Kannur Express passengers bearing the maximum inconvenience, even though alternatives existed. This clearly shows that operational convenience was prioritized over passenger convenience. A train serving lakhs of Coastal Karnataka passengers was shifted away from the city’s primary hub due to internal adjustments and the prioritisation of other interstate operations. Passengers are deeply concerned that long-standing services are being disturbed to accommodate operational reshuffling and new priorities. One clear sentiment emerging from the travelling public is this: don’t weaken or sideline a lifeline train like Kannur Express to accommodate other interstate trains or internal operational adjustments. Established public services must not become collateral damage. This is not the first time this issue has triggered public concern. Previous attempts to shift the terminal saw strong opposition from passengers and public representatives, and assurances were given that normal operations would resume after temporary works. Even now, South Western Railway has indicated that the present arrangement is temporary. However, repeated extensions of temporary measures are creating genuine fear that the change may quietly become permanent. Decongestion of railway terminals is a valid objective, but it cannot come at the cost of passenger accessibility. KSR Bengaluru is not just another station- it is the primary mobility hub of the city and removing long-standing trains from this hub disrupts thousands of daily travel plans. If the current arrangement continues, the long-term impact will be severe. Passengers will face higher travel costs, loss of seamless connectivity, reduced reliability and long-term inconvenience. Coastal Karnataka travellers, in particular, will be the worst affected, as they depend heavily on this train for work, education, medical travel and official commitments in Bengaluru. Passengers are not opposing modernization or new terminals. But major operational changes must be passenger-first, not convenience-first for operations. We strongly urge @SWRRLY,@drmsbc sir to review the situation with urgency and restore Train No. 16511/16512 KSR Bengaluru-Kannur Express to KSR Bengaluru at the earliest. If temporary arrangements were the reason, the time has now come to honour earlier assurances and bring back the original terminal. The travelling public of Coastal Karnataka and Bengaluru deserve connectivity that is practical, affordable and accessible. A centrally located terminal is not a luxury — it is a necessity. Restore Kannur Express to KSR Bengaluru! Don’t sideline our lifeline train for operational reshuffling! Passengers cannot be ignored any longer! Save Coastal Karnataka train! @RailMinIndia @AshwiniVaishnaw @VSOMANNA_BJP @CaptBrijesh

True Kerala Story in 60 Seconds. Ottapalam a small town in Palakkad, but what happened there is a masterclass in crisis management. A moving bus caught fire & you can see a 60 second display of citizen bravery. 10th Second: The bus doors opened. People started coming out. 30th Second: A local bystander came Not with a phone to record a reel, but with a fire extinguisher. 35th Second: 3 to 4 more people with fire extinguisher. 50th Second: Every single soul is off the bus. Safe. Unharmed. 60th Second: The visible flames are dead. And note NOT A SINGLE PERSON WITH A MOBILE IN HAND. The Kerala we present. #KeralaStory

Again Train No. 16511 SMVT Bengaluru–Kannur Express delayed! Today detained at Bantwala for crossing with Tr No.16576 MAJN–YPR Gomateshwara Express, leading to further late running. The main reason is the change in crossing pattern on the ghat section, due to which 16511 is getting repeatedly held up. When 16511 runs late, all following down trains including SBHR–MAQ Passenger also get delayed, badly affecting daily commuters of Coastal Karnataka. This train must maintain punctuality as it is a crucial morning lifeline service. Requesting @SWRRLY,@drmsbc @DrmMys, to review ghat section crossings and ensure on-time running of 16511. @RailMinIndia @RailwaySeva @CaptBrijesh @AshwiniVaishnaw @VSOMANNA_BJP

Kerala’s reduction in infant mortality is a historic public health achievement. With an IMR of 5, Kerala not only leads India but also performs better than the United States at 5.6. This did not happen by chance. Infant mortality has fallen from 12 in 2015–16 to 5 today, and neonatal mortality from 6 to below 4, through sustained public health action. There are no rural–urban, gender or sectoral gaps. Investments in newborn care units, neonatal services, universal screening and programmes like Hridyam have saved many young lives. Safeguarding every mother and child remains a core commitment of the LDF and we are firmly on the mark.
