FCA's director of market oversight blames "negative" media for moribund UK markets and says journalists should do more to boost the environment for businesses in the UK 🤔1) isn't that what PR is for? 2) Is it the regulator's place to make this claim?

Very interesting. Rishi, the master of the own goal, seems intent on appealing to the minority.

@JoshLachkovic It’s definitely getting worse. Ghosting or massive delays in sending feedback. Not only is it rude, it also makes it impossible to effectively plan. Inevitably if/when they do come back, they then expect the agency to act at the pace of light to get things going.
English

The biggest thing that's surprised me since starting an agency is the surprise number of times I've been ghosted by prospects after a pitch.
I think our win rate is quite good, but then at the opposite end there's just total silence.
It's essentially either 'win' or 'never hear from us again'

@danbarker @nlgreen @DoctorChrisVT Thanks going to read more on this.

Aside from people's bias that they believe caffeine is bad for you (which it isn't), is there anything scientifically wrong with Red Bull?
Or is it just supplement-rich caffeine?
Esp after recent taurine studies show great things with it.
If I was being hyper rationalist, would I be better off switching my four double espressos per day to four Red Bulls, so I got the 4g of taurine plus all the vitamins?

@JoshLachkovic @danbarker @DoctorChrisVT A lot of people argue about the definition of UPF too. We don’t know all the answers. Lots of research adjusts for the salt / fat / sugar so it’s not about that. In some cases it’s the processing, which changes the way our body responds to food; in others it’s the ingredients.
English

@JoshLachkovic In reality if you have very minimal UPF then it’s unlikely to cause long term health problems but the reality is we’re all consuming a lot of UPF without meaning to.
English

@JoshLachkovic Lots of evidence to show its addictive, linked to long term health problems (high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke) even when adjusted for fat / salt / sugar. And causes weight gain, even when compared with identical cals / macro intake.
English

@JoshLachkovic Maybe not possible to get the volume you’re talking about. But RB is also ultra processed I guess?
English

@JoshLachkovic Id say stick with the coffee and look for natural food sources of taurine

Probably the most exciting ad I’ve seen in years. BIG energy.

@hazard_leah @DoctorChrisVT I find this a really difficult topic. Many women will miscarry after eating very “healthy” diets with no UPF, others may not have access to the whole foods mentioned. Laden with challenges and I’d be keen to know what tangible solutions can be offered alongside the data.
