@nmjstone @Vontz Riders do have timing chips, but stage times are taken by a running mass start/finish clock. This is because you are counted as finished when the first rider in your group, not your actual bike, crosses the line. Sprint/KOM pts are given to the first to cross.

Questions @Vontz & @BTPCycling do the TDF riders have timing chips or is timing just a mass start/finish running clock? For sprint/KOM, can any rider in the peloton be the fastest to finish those segments even if they’re furthest back? Or do they have to be 1st to arrive?
