The bane of our Nations problem is that the worst amongst us govern us. There is no escaping this fact. And until we change who governs us.. We will excel individually but collectively suffer, because we are collectively governed.

They say imitation is the best form of flattery. We welcome the Hon. @PeterObi for following the leadership of former Nigerian Vice President H.E. @atiku Atiku Abubakar in calling for election integrity. Vice President Atiku is demonstrating leadership across broader aspects of the U.S.–Nigeria relationship as well, and we believe the Hon. Peter Obi will soon embrace these efforts and follow Atiku’s leadership. This is a good thing.

I have been living with a spinal cord injury since I was 16 years old, and my life has never been the same. My name is Chimaobi. On September 7th, 2016, everything changed for me. That day started like any other. I went out to play football with my friends at PG hostel inside

I observed in that Datti Presser, that his brother was seated firmly by his side. I'm just wondering the significance of that considering that this same brother wasn't even supporting his ticket in 2023. Anyways, everyone knows what they are doing.

Nigeria is the home of absurdities in the world. The salary of the president on paper is 1,500,000 ($997) Nomination form: 100,000,000 ($71,000) Salary of Governor on paper: 900,000 ($640) Nomination form: 50,000,000 ($35,000) You then wonder why corruption is rife!!!

You people still don’t know how to use social media to your advantage. You think it’s just a place to call out banks and schools that overcharged you. I’m often reminded that suggesting a lasting way to solve some problems in Nigeria is a waste of time, because many Nigerians who have never filed a lawsuit or spoken to an attorney will quickly tell you that suing a corporation is a waste of time—something about bribery. They simply want things to come easily. There’s no fighting spirit, even when taking action might be the better option. You don’t understand the psychology of lawsuits. It’s not only about winning, but also about applying pressure. When you sue a corporation, you make sure the press is aware. You make sure it becomes a topic on social media for as long as it takes. Social media pressure can sometimes influence outcomes. As your case progresses, others may be encouraged to sue. If 100 customers sue a telecom provider over the same issue in one month, how many cases can the company settle and still remain profitable? No company wants to be dragged to court every week—it damages reputation. Eventually, cases can escalate beyond local attention. Learn to fight. Learn to withstand pressure. Even if you don’t win, others might, because you inspired them to act. Fight for the change you want. Let it be known that you tried! Don’t just sit on social media tagging banks.

This is also a big problem. -The NHS urgently needs more Black donors, especially for the Ro blood subtype critical for sickle cell patients. But current malaria screening rules are quietly locking out thousands of eligible Black African donors (including possibly this guy). -Grew up in Nigeria or Ghana? You'll face a malaria antibody test before donating. Test positive(which most will, for potentially decades after leaving their home countries) land you're deferred. Yet that positive result almost certainly reflects old immune memory, not active infection or any REAL risk. -The policy doesn't distinguish between someone who arrived from Lagos last month and someone who left 20 years ago as a child and never returned. Both will get deferred. That's a blunt instrument that disproportionately hits exactly the donor communities the NHS needs most. –What we need is not impossible if they truly care about the groups affected are: Quantitative antibody levels rather than binary positive/negative results, formal weighting for time since leaving endemic areas, PCR testing for actual parasites rather than using antibodies as a proxy, and above ALL a long overdue evidence-based policy review. Sickle cell patients, overwhelmingly Black, nare running short of the specific blood they need. The policy review can't keep being delayed.
SKB@seyikanbai

Gilmore met a Nigerian man in the UK who said he’d been advised by UK health authorities not to donate blood in the UK, after tests showed traces of a malaria parasite still present in his system from the 10–12 years he lived in Nigeria 😭

Every time I reflect on the 2015 elections and juxtapose this to whatever is happening today in Nigerian politics... I tell myself Nigerians have learnt nothing. Some of you just want to be the next APC period. It's just schemes for you all. Jisi nu ike

Is the Nigerian stock market overpriced? Let’s talk about it. The market P/E ratio right now is 13.9x. The 3 year average is 9.4x. That means we’re trading about 48% above historical norms. Year to date, the market is up 55.69%. The ASI has risen over 740% since 2015 but company earnings didn’t grow anywhere close to that. So what’s driving this? Banks posted massive profits from FX revaluation when naira crashed. That money was a one time event, not real business growth. Then PenCom raised pension fund equity limits in February 2026, potentially unlocking N1.6 trillion for stocks. More money chasing the same stocks means higher prices, not better companies. What does this mean for you? The era of “buy anything on NGX and win” is done. From here, returns depend on actual company performance. You’re no longer buying at a discount. You’re paying fair to full value. Not saying don’t invest. Saying be selective. Focus on companies with real earnings growth and solid fundamentals. When prices rise faster than profits, be careful. That’s not pessimism. That’s math.

@nnamexi @TomolaGroup It's normal. We have bullish and bearish periods. It happens everywhere, including the US. There are up times and down times. That's why the post emphasized long-term investing for future wealth. The Stock Market is better for long-term investing and not short-term gambling.

More Nigerians are now participating in the stock market, and many listed companies are reporting strong profits. This is helping the stock exchange act more like a real engine that funds businesses and less like a place for quick gambling. If you’re thinking long term, this is the kind of environment where quietly buying and holding good companies can make a big difference to your future wealth.
