Had an interesting (and sort of random) discussion with a friend the other night. It was ostensibly about reading books. But the question came up: "if the only people who could vote were folk who had read an entire book the previous year, how many (percentage) would be eligible?"

How is wanting freedom to go and make the most money possible a liberal trait?

The @SecWar words only seem indistinguishable from the most vilonet forms of islam to the atheist, or practical atheist. Words have meaning, but that meaning can be inflected by the speakers motivated. The atheist will always struggle to hear the meaning.

@danieldaycrypto He's the head of the military, and he declared that no quarter would be given to our enemies. The Hague Convention says nothing about a formal order. It literally uses the word "declare," which is exactly what Hegseth did.

A declaration of no quarter is an explicit violation of Article 23 of the Hague Convention and therefore a war crime under U.S. law, specifically the War Crimes Act of 1996. And there is no statute of limitations.

If an 18-year-old kid has extremely strong opinions on Israel and foreign policy, something’s wrong there. That’s not an opinion earned through years of learning and life experience. It’s the result of a kid spending hours on his phone, being conditioned by an algorithm.

I've heard Democrats complain more loudly about our soldiers being well fed than about fraud in California or Minnesota. They sure do have their priorities. They seem to only be upset about the military spending because they'd prefer the lobster and steak to go to illegal aliens.

Reminder: As I documented in my book Stockholm Syndrome Christianity, this is the same person who in the summer of 2021 demonized fellow Christians who were seeking exemptions from COVID vaccine mandates as having “hardened heart[s]” that “reason and virtue have difficulty penetrating.” He accused them of having a “moral framework that’s broken” and being “dangerous,” “extreme,” and examples of “libertinism” that was a threat to liberty itself. So, David, perhaps you should look in the mirror. You are the one who seems to believe that no person can disagree with you on cultural issues and also be a decent person. But it’s actually worse than that. Disagreeing with COVID mandates was not immoral. It was a reasonable difference of opinion, and yet David sought to absolutize his view on this disputable issue and anathematize as evil Christians who disagreed with him. Fast forward to today: David now insists that someone who uses the name of Christ to baptize and promote really evil things such as killing infants in the womb, the rejection of male and female, and the destruction of biblical marriage is a wonderful example of decency.
