I am now officially in Miami. First time I’ve been to South Florida in 14 years, I definitely didn’t miss the South Florida heat though.

It’s travel time again! This morning, this 2 year old Jet Blue Airbus A220 will be taking me down to Fort Lauderdale. First time trying out Jet Blue, hoping for the best!

5/9 3:15 AM update: A line of storms is expected to push across the area this morning. Isolated storms within the line have the potential to produce gusty to damaging winds and hail to around quarter-sized. The strongest storms should push out of the area by the early afternoon.

Hints at today’s severe risk from Saturdays AFD on where the concerns would be. Not bad for D5 and overall ideas of maybe not as widespread but potential for a localized conditional risk. Still got it.

The wind wasn’t helping at all, but I was able to make it out to Mobile Intl. Airport to see the Air Force Hurricane Hunters and the NOAA Hurricane Hunters planes. Such a great opportunity for the public!
