So sovereignty shifts. Now how we connect to the system becomes more important than controlling it. A region that relies entirely on external access follows the network. A region that builds its own infrastructure becomes part of how it is formed.

Digital sovereignty is usually framed as control over where systems run, who operates them, etc. and this framing works for traditional systems. But blockchains don’t belong to anyone. They run globally and regardless of where they are accessed from. So, ownership and participation start to diverge from what’s known.

In an ideal consensus layer, we must: 1- Trustlessly order events on the network, 2- Prevent any censorship of any TX, 3- Work in real time, i.e. there is no significant delay in between interactions. Hard Question: How to achieve decentralization and performance at the same time?
