@hellspatisserie you can tell a lot about a person simply by how they perceive 4chan
English

@uindourika if my mutuals cared they'd be calling me immature and that they thought I was 17

@iri_tonkotsu I haven't played wow in a while so I could be wrong and this may be a silly comparison to make but wow players seem more evil in a 4chan/shut-in way and xiv players are evil in a twitter/normie way
English

@polyfraggrenade that's just what people spoke like pre 2012 you had to be there
English

this video is so brutal because the channer is also so performative and obnoxious, its a total larp off

@EyeDee10Tango @IntCyberDigest isn't part of the selling point of arch the accessibility of the aur with things like yay?
English

@IntCyberDigest This is equivalent to people on Window$ clicking the big green or blue download now button on some random file hosting site and installing malware. They're using AUR helpers and when a PKGBUILD comes up for review they just go yeah it looks good or some variation of --no-confirm.

@gnukeith @PryvitKyle There's a subtext to the language, being a privacy browser (in my opinion) sets the expectation without explicitly saying so that the browser is going to be more respectful of your resources and not bloat you with junk.
English

I see, I know @PryvitKyle would be interested in knowing this, so I guess my question is, why do you find Brave disingenuous?
Free alternatives do exist, they often don't last long and if they do they are significantly less secure (Kiwi browser, Bromite, Pale Moon).
Kyle feel free to link the loss leader article, thanks!
English

@gnukeith I'd also call opera adware but the difference is how they advertise themselves, I think brave tries to paint itself in a way I find to be disingenuous. The developers deserve to be paid for their work and it's probably hard to monetize I understand, but free alternatives exist.
English

@gnukeith I'm not ragebaiting, chromium browsers are all resource hogs. I think brave pretends to be something for tech literate people by being a "privacy" browser while serving you adware built on chromium. Opera isn't the best but I don't care to find others. I use librewolf btw.
English

@AshAJCR hate towards opera is largely due to the fact it was purchased by china so people consider it compromised, it's still based in norway and has to adhere to their laws which people tend to ignore, it's also not open source so it does require some trust towards opera to use
English

@FloPhy453 @simbaoffperc putting words in my mouth, I just hate chromium, I don't care about the politics of the founder and I believe he has the right to say whatever hateful things he wants to about me personally
English

@simbaoffperc @node_kp And that is then the actual issue he takes with brave. He simply hates the founder and wants everything he does to be bad, even if there’s no actual reason for it.
English

@Uber_Monk777 librewolf, waterfox, pale moon, zen browser, or literally just vanilla firefox in that order
English

@node_kp What non chromium browser would you recommend? I'm not tech literate, ill admit it. But I can fix that with time
