I think it's great to see new, outside-the-system candidates trying to get into Dem politics right now. However, I also concede that the best argument for being at least a bit circumspect about untested, no-political-track-record, aesthetically anti-establishment Dem candidates is John Fetterman. He's way worse and far more destructive than many career politician Dems. IMO Dem voters should be looking for some concrete signals and clear assurances that new-to-the-scene, social-media-powered Dem candidates will not quickly become the next Fetterman - ie. once in office they get bored and seek attention by just joining with Republicans on everything. IMO Fetterman's change wasn't because of his stroke etc. He was always an attention-first, principles-second politician - which is the kind of politician that is being algorithmically rewarded in this social media era. The (unanswerable?) question about any candidate without a real record to judge is whether they will get in office and prioritize ever-more attention *regardless* of principle. We probably can't know, but it's worth asking all of them what they make of the Fetterman path, and why they would be different.

in Fuzhounese you can call the left and right hands the "small side hand" and "big side hand" 𝒐𝒓 the "bowl-holding hand" and "chopstick-holding hand" 🍜
