You don’t need motivation. You need standards. Because motivation is unreliable. It shows up when things are easy, and it disappears the moment they’re not. The moment you’re tired. Because “good enough” is where most people plateau. And if we’re being real? A lot of people don’t have a motivation problem. They have a standards problem. They’ll say they want to grow, but won’t hold themselves to anything that would cause it. No consistency. No self-critique. No pressure to improve. Just vibes… and confusion when nothing changes. Motivation feels good. It’s easy. It’s exciting. It’s temporary. Standards are quiet. They’re strict. And they don’t care how you feel. But standards? Standards get results. Stop waiting for motivation and cultivate standards.

Time really does fly, huh? Two years ago today I was sitting in my home office when I received a fateful email from @Crunchyroll, calling me in to record for the fifth season of Natsume Yuujin-Cho for what would be my first anime role ever. I still distinctly remember briefly thinking, “There’s no way! This has to be an April Fool’s joke!” Thankfully, I couldn’t have been more wrong. Fast forward to the present, and I’ve now had the immense pleasure of working with 12 amazing directors on 30 spectacular shows, spanning 42 stellar episodes, and I booked my first named character in an anime. I’m not a big numbers guy, but it’s still kind of hard for me to wrap my head around the sheer amount of work I’ve been so blessed to do in just two years. There’s not a day that goes by where I take what I have for granted. Each job we book as voice actors is a small miracle, and I treat each and every opportunity I’m given as such. That being said, thank you to all the directors who’ve trusted me with your projects, to all the engineers who make every session a smooth and flawless experience, to all my fellow voice actors for bringing your amazing and talented selves into the booth to breath life into these worlds, and to you, the fans. Without you and your support, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Thank you from the very bottom of my heart. I hope that I can continue to make you all proud and reach for even greater heights. Thank you for believing in this silly little boy and his silly little dreams.💖
